“Fantastic!!!”
Reviewed 10 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at Le Gigan. We were a group of two families (4 adults and 4 children). The children were aged between 14 months and 3 1/2 years.

Where to start.....Everything from our first enquiry to getting the deposit back has been has been brilliant.

The house itself is beautiful and extremely well equipped. The beds extremely comfy, bathrooms modern and spacious and loads of space for kids and adults to enjoy themselves without feeling cramped. The set up is perfect if you are travelling as two families or with grandparents - 2 lovely en suite bedrooms downstairs and 3 bedrooms with a large bathroom upstairs.

Everything for young children has been thought about from the bath toys, monitors, night lights, kids plates and cups to the toys for the swimming pool and garden. Our kids loved the swimming pool (which is heated) and the swings/play house in the garden.

The grounds and surrounding area are beautiful - very peaceful without being isolated. The nearest villages is a couple of miles away which is perfect for those morning croissants and pain au chocolate!

Every morning that blackboard outside the house would provide details on the weather forecast and where the daily market was - a really lovely touch.

I honestly can't fault our stay. If you are lucky enough to come across this house and can get a week that hasn't been snapped up by someone else then GO! We will definitely be making a return visit.

“Truly blissful escape”

From the moment we booked, everything about this cottage was perfect. This was our first family holiday with our 9 month old daughter and so it needed to be absolute luxury. It did not disappoint but rather exceeded all our expectations. We arrived just outside the Easter tourist season and so were very much absorbed into rural France. The cottage was lovely and spacious and had everything you could want or need and more. Homemade cake (still warm) was presented on our arrival along with a bottle of wine.

What made it fit for us was that the property and its facilities catered perfectly for a baby/children whilst still having everything in place for the grown ups. We very much hope to go back some day when our daughter is older and able to make full use of everything on offer.

“A wonderful family retreat”

I travelled to the Farmhouse at Gigan with my extended family (5 adults, 3 toddlers and a baby!). Prue and Andrew made the whole experience very relaxed and easy from booking the holiday onwards.

We found getting to the farmhouse from Bordeaux airport very straightforward (taking the pretty A-roads all the way). The amazing welcome basket full of home made delights really set the tone for our holiday.

The property is at least as lovely as the pictures suggest, with all the conveniences that a young family need easily to hand - not having to take baby monitors and buggies made a big difference to our luggage allowance, not to mention the baby gates, high chair, swimming floats, toys, bikes, play house etc. etc. Personally, I loved all the Lego!

Days started by checking the chalkboard for weather and local market info, time was passed either playing in the pool or in the grounds with the children. It was such a pleasure to pick apples, nuts and vegetables with the children, and see how much they enjoyed it. Occasional trips out were followed by lazy evening meals looking up at the. windmill before the sun set behind the sunflowers.

Andrew and Prue have clearly put a lot of time, thought and effort into making the whole experience of staying at Gigan very special. They have succeeded, and I hope we get the chance to join them in this beautiful part of France again son.

“Magical holiday at the perfect villa”
Reviewed 7 September 2012 for a stay in September 2012

A group of ten friends stayed over a week for one of our weddings. It was a superb holiday at the lovely Gigan, with the owners, Prue and Andrew, being unbelievably helpful. The villa is perfect for a group of friends or a couple of families and against the backdrop of the stresses and strains of a wedding it proved a relaxing haven.

“A perfect peaceful enclave in a beautiful region of France”

I can't praise this property highly enough. Once you drive through the gates you will not want to leave. For the time of your stay you will have your own little portion of France with its extensive grounds, wonderful pool and the tastefully decorated and fabulously well-equipped farmhouse. Everything about Gigan feels really special. Even with ten of us (and a family in the other smaller property) there was bags of space and no feeling of getting on top of each other. Prue is extremely helpful but not at all intrusive. I can't recommend Gigan highly enough. The region too is well worth a visit. The driving is easy with virtually empty roads (in June) and we didn't pay a penny in parking the whole time, an added joy for any Brit!
