“Amazing but a few staff let it down”

We have been visiting wine and wallop since it opened and have had a fabulous experience on every visit up until this one. Hannah and Tom have both given us excellent service and we hadn’t actually encountered any of the other staff until this evening. We ordered a bottle of the house white and although it was the cheapest on the menu for £20 we would expect it to be palatable. Unfortunately we tried the wine and it had a horrible taste. (We don’t know if this was because we had a dodgey bottle or if the wine was just dreadful). When we asked if we could change the bottle Hannah was very helpful and suggested we go to the bar to swap it for another bottle. The two girls on the bar however were less than helpful. No eye contact was made and the new bottle of wine was slammed into the ice bucket. Working in a restaurant ourselves we were disappointed by the lack of care. We understand that customers can be annoying but at the end of the day “the customer is always right”. We will not stop visiting Wine And Wallop as the food, atmosphere and drinks have on the whole been excellent but we suggest management speak to their staff about their attitude.

P.s. Chorizo is a must have off the nibbles menu btw!!

Great place, love the quirky décor and the upstairs outside terrace where we ate. Orders promptly taken, great service for the food and drinks. Brunch dishes gorgeous. Very reasonably priced too-loved everthing- will definitely return-too many enticing things on the menu!- would definitely recommend.

This venue, is really top drawer. It has it all. The interior is a good quality, and matches the outside space upstairs, glamorous, and definitely a place to be seen. The staff were on point, so relaxed , and friendly. The food was delicious, very fresh, full of flavour, delivered well. Will return, lovely, and well done.

Sunday roast here was delicious. My friends had a brunch which looked equally as good.

The garden area really does make you feel like you are on holiday. This place is a real gem and very relaxed.
