Owner description: The Market was originally given a Charter (a document granting certain rights to the people of the town) in the mid-13th Century, which enabled Medieval Lymington to hold its own market. Farmers, traders and merchants would come from far and wide to sell their goods. This is still true of today's traders. The High Street was deliberately designed to be wide enough for a market to be held regularly. Nowadays and this can still be seen in the current striking Georgian architecture that lines both sides of the High Street from the Quay in the East and up to St Thomas' Church which holds a commanding position in the West. There are 100+ stalls every Saturday from 8am until 4pm, which is popular with local residents, visitors and tourists alike.

Running up both sides of the street with restricted car access during the day there all sorts of stalls. Much local produce and also craft stalls. A good day out and Lymington has more to offer like the Town Quay and St Barbes Museum.

The market and surrounding town are a great place to spend a day out. The market has a good variety of stalls, the shops along the High St, sandwiching the market, are nice, and you can walk a few minutes from the High St to the Quay. Lots of cafes to get some refreshments, terrific artist Stephen Lees shop on route to the quayside, he even creates to order whilst you watch him paint with acrylics, plenty to do, 4hrs just flew by.

We visited on a wet rainy Saturday whilst staying nearby. Wasn't expecting many stalls due to the weather.
There were plenty of stalls with lots of quirky things for sale. Something for everyone. Purchased some fudge which was delicious! Lots of local shops to look in. Would highly recommend visiting if nearby.

Have visited this market many times. It runs both sides of Lymington High Street. There is a mixture of good quality stalls. Well worth a visit.
