“Super cosy”
Reviewed 28 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

What a lovely stay.

Spent 3-4 days there which was an incredibly comfortable stop. We had no car, so travelled on foot, which was a pleasant walk through the town. The cottage itself is a converted garage, which has been done very well. Immaculately decorated and very bright. All the amenities which you could possible need/want. The cottage itself is detached from the main building, so is incredibly quiet. A great place to come back to, or even to spend a whole day in there.

The owner Charlotte was mega friendly, and very accommodating, and was on hand to help with anything we wanted. Knowledgeable about the local area and very enthusiastic and conscientious. Breakfast was perfect every day, and actually a wonderful surprise. Could have happily stayed for another week.

Lymington itself is a lovely little town, or you can get a bus/train to Brockenhurst which also lovely to explore. Loads of lovely places to eat and lots of nice places to drink.

I'm hoping to return in August, so look out for our booking!

“Home away from home!”
Reviewed 24 May 2014 for a stay in April 2014

I booked this cottage for a night getaway with my sister for a birthday treat last month. We fell in love with the amazing area of Lymington and then the peacefulness that comes with this annex.
Everything was lovely and fresh and Charlotte had made chocolate muffins with candles for our birthdays which made our day!
I emailed Charlotte with dietary requirements and Charlotte was very accommodating and made a scrumptious breakfast of smoked salmon and eggs which we devoured quite happily!
Charlotte and Ben are a lovely couple who made us feel very welcome and we hope to return at some point in the future.

“World's nicest garage!”
Reviewed 11 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

Prepare to be amazed as you arrive at what is without doubt Britain's most surprising use of a garage.

Owner Charlotte and husband Ben have transformed their garage into a B&B annexe that C4's George Clarke would be proud of. It's simply stunning!

Location is great, a few pounds in a taxi to Lymington and a great base to explore the rest of the Forest.

There's a fantastic breakfast every day served with a smile by Charlotte and she's very knowledgeable about the area which helps no end if you're strangers like we were.

The freshly baked Brownies and speedy wifi were an additional bonus!

They've only been in business a few weeks but after the stay we had they deserve to be in business for many years to come!

Top marks Charlotte and Ben! Like Arnie, we'll be back :)

“The friendliness of a B&B with added privacy - perfect!!”
Reviewed 25 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

We spent a lovely weekend at Albert cottage. It ticks all the boxes. You have the friendliness of a high quality B&B, the touches of a good hotel , but with the privacy of a self catering cottage. We received a very warm welcome from our host, Charlotte, she took us to the annexe of the house and explained the workings of the heating and the wifi etc.
There were little kilner jars of tea, coffee and sugar with fresh milk in the fridge and a small tin of home-baked cookies...delicious.
The accommodation is a garage conversion. It's light, spacious and very comfortable. The space has been used extremely well giving you a sofa area with a large flat screen tv and DVD player, a well equipped kitchen with fridge and microwave, a dining area, a shower room and a very comfortable double bed. The bedding was a luxury feather duvet and pillows, unfortunately my husband is allergic to feathers, I had forgotten to mention this in our correspondence. He talked to Charlotte who, without fuss or hesitation, changed the bedding to hypoallergenic.
We chose to eat at the local pub on the corner 'The Wheel Inn', it's a typical village pub, frequented by the locals. Friendly and welcoming with good local beers on tap. It has a Thai restaurant on the premises called ' Krua Thai 88'. Authentic Thai food cooked by a couple of lovely Thai ladies. One of the best Thai meals we've had. Worth a visit, about a 15 minute walk from the cottage (with a torch) or a 3/4 min drive.
Saturday we got a cab in to Lymington to 'The Ship Inn' and had an excellent meal there too. Great priced cocktails and right on the harbour. Cab fare was about £7 each way.
Breakfasts at 'The Garage @ Albert Cottage' (as we've affectionately been calling it) are superb. Charlotte asked us what time we would like it brought to our room and a full English arrived bang on time both mornings. Fresh, local produce, homemade marmalade and local honey. The eggs, especially, were delicious.
In short this place has all you could ask for. It's quirky, cute, modern, functional, relaxing, private, the location is excellent, the food superb, the bed snugly, the host warm and friendly. What more could you ask for?
No negatives at all.
We will be back for sure. Thank you Charlotte xxx
