“Perfect group getaway location”
Reviewed 1 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We stayed at Gib Tor as a group of 11 for a joint birthday celebration weekend.

The barn provided the perfect base for exploring (walking/climbing and cycling) with no need to use our cars all weekend.

It had everything we needed and plenty of space in the communal rooms for all of us, we enjoyed the swing in the living room and quirky ladder up to one of the bedrooms!

“Beautiful and quirky barn decorated with love”
Reviewed 16 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

I stayed with my hen party for 2 nights. Communal rooms are massive and ideal for big groups. Lots of mod con appliances including blue-tooth speakers. Central heating as well as log burning stoves. Swing in living room was a fab fun bonus. Weather prevented us from using the BBQ facilities but that did not stop us cooking it all in the easy to use oven.
The only down side was the access to the mezanine floor (via a very narrow ladder and through a toilet shaped wooden cut out which you have to pull yourself up through sideways). Ideal for older children and the slimmer adult. New owners have since updated the details. It is lovely and quirky. Only 1 of my guests used it and luckily the rest of us (12) were able to fit in the other bedrooms/bed settee and chair bed.
Plenty of fire wood and fire lighters were provided for at least 1 night although it would have lasted us 2 nights had we needed it. Location fantastic, private and easy to find, although we did use sat navs!
We would definitely stay here again. Thank you to Lynsey and family.

“Great place for a weekend with friends or family”
Reviewed 4 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We just loved this place - four children, four parents, an uncle and a grandma to celebrate a special birthday. The accommodation is comfortable, location superb and it has lots of zany touches - the trapeze in the upstairs sitting room, the tractor seats attached to the wall by the table tennis table. Well equipped kitchen and lots of room to play outside. The kids spent much of the time damming the stream...

“A glorious weekend away.”
Reviewed 8 March 2016 for a stay in February 2016

myself and 9 friends spent a fantastic weekend at Gib Torr, situated in beautiful countryside, I have to say that our expectations were surpassed. Lynsey the owner made everyone feel most welcome. The facilities were excellent and great value for money. I would definitely stay again and recommend Gib Torr to my other friends.. Brilliant

“Totally memorable Christmas celebration 23-30 Dec”
Reviewed 7 January 2016 for a stay in December 2015

Needing to spend Christmas near enough Manchester to attend a family wedding, we sought a property which would allow us to bring together 4 generations of our family for an informal, rural celebration. We chose exceptionaly well in Gib Tor. This was not solely for the characteristics of the house, which allowed the generations to each find their own space, with the playroom, several warm and comfortable seating areas (much appreciated by our two elderly members) and a spacious and sociable kitchen, but especially due to the care that Lynsey had taken in preparing the house for us (no less than two Christmas trees!), immaculate everywhere and warm throughout, with a surprise seasonal welcome hamper. Our hosts could not have been more helpful and supportive, we found the furnishings totally suited to a family group, enough space for additional guests to join for Christmas lunch, the local walks genuinely spectacular. My only complaint would be that we did not book for longer!!!!
