Had pie and chips which I felt was really very good, pie lovely pastry and filling, home made chips which are so appreciated by me, hate frozen chips. Loved it
Went the week after and tried the fry up, a bit disappointed with it really, for me the sausages really let it down, didn't feel the quality was there and I hate cheap sausages. Will be back for pie and chips though and its still well a head of most of the rubbish on Spring Gardens.

Disappointing and food is not fresh even though it is advertised as fresh. Stars looks OK in and out but the nice exterior and pleasant enough interior ends there. I am a big breakfast eater and have review many breakfast places in Buxton and have to say this is the worse! Everything appears to be bought cheap from Iceland over the road and is pre cooked/heated and then warmed before serving and not cooked fresh as they say.

Sadly most of the food places on Buxtons main street (spring gardens) are lacking, Stars is terrible along with KFC, Chippys Place and Shakes and Cakes. Most of the best food places in Buxton can be found around the Market Place.

Went here for the first (and last) time. Had chicken nuggets and chips and a coffee. Very slow to serve and nuggets were cold and the coffee was awful. Staff quite cold and impolite. Will not be going here again.

It does what is says on the tin, doesn't pretend to be "arty" or posh, its just a simple cafe doing simple food and drinks. Nothing wrong with it, decent friendly service, nice atmosphere and tasty snacks, drinks and food. Reasonably priced and a much needed addition to Spring Gardens as everywhere else to eat on that street is pretty grim!

Visited Buxton ,on a return from Manchester, once again it was raining,so we headed for Stars Cafe.Cafe was empty when we entered but soon filled up.
As we were 1st in,service was as before very friendly and attentive without being over fussy. I had the excellent homemade veg soup as a starter,my wife was only having a main, waitress came to check if she wanted to wait or have her meal served straight away (nice little touch)!.Food is plain simple good English, cooked to order not heated up or been standing for ages.
Once again a very pleasant meal ,served by friendly attentive staff who want you to enjoy, we will definitely be back again.
