“Perfect for even the shortest stay”
Reviewed 25 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

My fiancee and I stayed for just 2 nights (wish it could have been longer!) in mid Feb. What a wonderful find; bright large rooms finished to a very high standard and the heated floor in the bathroom was just perfect bonus. The kitchen was very well equpied which was great for making that all important romantic meal!

The location was also fantastic, just a few minutes walk from the centre of town and the train station.

A quick mention also goes to the apartment and surrounding areas guide that had been put together by Belinda and her husband. We went on one of the walks it suggested and it was beautiful.

All in all not a single thing I can fault about are stay. A++

“Spacious, Good Facilities, Great Location and Friendly Hosts”

This apartment is located within 5 minutes up the hill from the railway station in Buxton. It's down in the basement of a large Georgian townhouse, but is so bright and airy that it feels anything but. The bedroom is a good size, and the bed was a welcome retreat after a lengthy walk around the peaks. Good facilities, nice hot shower, and we were also comp'd a free breakfast at a local cafe, when the underfloor heating packed in for the weekend, as well as a bottle of spanish sparkly (cava to the initiated).

The hosts are very welcoming and are also full of useful information about nearly everything in and out of Buxton. Nigel loves hiking and cycling so can fill you in on the best local walks and also ones further afield. Belinda knows a lot about what's happening in Buxton, as she seems to be involved in a lot of it.

We really really liked the idea of doing the Monsal Trail, a converted former railway line, complete with tunnels and disused stations, that starts from the edges of Buxton and leads to Bakewell. However without cycles (no cycle hire available in Buxton between October and March) we ended up doing a really scenic walk around the Goyt Valley instead, as recommended by Nigel.

We did go down to Bakewell getting a transpeak bus, and can also recommend a visit, if only to sample a bakewell pudding (tarts are for the tourists!!!)

This is one of my favourite towns in the peak district, thanks for a wonderful stay Nigel and Belinda.

Liked best: the bed, although there was always the danger of oversleeping and missing my train!
Liked least: the house was located at the top of a hill, when coming from the railway station or from most of the bars/restaurants - but it is in the PEAK distrcit

“Superb modern apartment”
Reviewed 5 November 2013 for a stay in October 2013

The apartment was excellent - modern, clean, spacious and situated in the centre of Buxton, within walking distance of train station (less than 10 minutes). The owners live upstairs and were very helpful and friendly (we found all the locals to be friendly), they provided homemade bread, jam, milk, butter, tea, coffee, eggs which we thought was a really nice touch. I have no negative comments to make about this accommodation - highly recommended.

“Lovely apartment”
Reviewed 1 October 2013 for a stay in September 2013

Stayed here while attending a convention in Buxton and found it really first class. It was extremely spacious and tastefully decorated with a huge double bed, comfortable living room, bathroom with easy-to-use shower and well-equipped kitchen. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and had provided a generous supply of food - bread, butter, jam, milk, eggs, muesli, porridge, as well as all the cleaning materials I needed. I had free use of Wi Fi and could adjust the heat up or down at any time of day. The house was situated in a quiet street but just a short walk from the shops, etc.
