This cottage is a warm, comfortable and very well equipped holiday stay. Flexible sleeping arrangements, double/twin downstairs, double upstairs. It is close to an exceptionally good village pub and has easy access to Hay-on-Wye, the Golden Valley and the Wye Valley walk. The visitors' book is crammed with compliments!
This was our second visit to Granary Cottage, the first time we've ever stayed in the same cottage twice. It's really well equipped, with everything needed for a home away from home. One of the bedrooms is downstairs, making it ideal for people with mobility issues. There is also an extra loo downstairs. There is a pretty, enclosed garden, with bbq equipment available.
The surrounding area is lovely, with plenty of places to visit. Hay for the bibliophiles, and many pretty villages within easy reach. It's close to the Black and White trail, and both Ross and Leominster are close enough for some antique hunting.
The Pandy Inn is 2 minutes walk away, with a very friendly landlady and reasonably priced evening meals. I highly recommend this cottage. Thank you Kiki.
We stayed at Granary Cottage over the Easter, it is a very comfortable and well equipped cottage, the garden is delightful although the weather was on the chilly side so we were not able to take advantage of it.All the equipment is first class, everything has been thought of, although we did find the twin bed rather narrow, but they were comfortable and we both slept well. The fire takes awhile to heat up and it burns logs ( there are plenty supplied) like there is no tomorrow! it is a chore to clean out but it was nice to have it lit on a chilly evening. TV downstairs worked fine on the Smart TV upstairs there was no signal although the apps worked ok, The village itself is very quiet, no shop, just one pub the Pandy Inn where we had lunch, it is alright very friendly but for us the meal was a bit disappointing, lovely old Church worth a visit. Good walking and cycling country, near to Hay-on-Wye( the market day on Thursday worth a visit) and to Hereford ( All Saints Church in the middle of town is first class their cafe serves excellent meals and coffee all very reasonable) Oakchurch Farm Shop and Garden Centre ay Staunton-on-Wye well worth a visit
I would reccomend the cottage for a quiet relaxing break
A lovely cottage in a peaceful location. Very relaxing. The cottage has everything you could need and the owners have thought of everything! Lovely log burner,TV's,books, games, maps,a thorough folder of everything to do with the cottage. Lovely local pub! Hay-on-wye a great place to visit. We had a wonderful stay and we didn't want to go home!
An excellent location, very well-equipped home from home. And apples from the tree in the garden were lovely too.
