I visited here with my partner whilst on holiday and we were so impressed with the quality of the food! The staff were polite and although a mistake was made when our food came out, it was quickly resolved with no issues and our actual order came out very quickly and all very well cooked! We were very happy with the service and the food, it was absolutely delicious! We would definitely go again should we find ourselves in the area!

Although we were only staying in Hay on Wye for 4 nights we decided to try the local Indian restaurant. The welcome was warm and the decor was clean, bright and fresh. We had a choice of tables as the place wasn't full at this time. We ordered the food and the service was prompt. I ordered a chicken tikka jalffrezi and asked that it be made hotter/ spicier then the description on the menu. When it came it was one of the best indian meals i had tasted in a long while, the extra heat/spice had been added using fresh chillies and not by just adding curry powder of hot pepper.. To accompany the meal we ordered a Tarka Dahl., i am struggling for adjectives to describe how nice this dish was.My wife ordered a mixed tandoori meal and was thouroughly impressed by the dish. The portion sizes were plentiful and would fill even the biggest appetite. There was plenty of other choices on the menu to cater for all tastes. As I said at the beginning we were only there for 4 nights, but enjoyed the meal so much we returned a second time for the last night. If/when we re visit Hay we will be making this our first night meal.

The waiter was rude to the point of being aggressive. The food was awful. Salmon was clearly not fresh and was far too salty. Chicken over-cooked and chewy and all dishes served in a sort of slop with little flavour. Adding insult to injury the bill for two was over £70. Should have walked out as others have described doing below. We won’t be going back unless it changes hands.

Sorry, but we were decidedly unimpressed by our takeaway. The food was slow arriving, lukewarm and fairly tasteless. Not at all what we were expecting as many of the reviews are very complimentary. My husband’s tikka masala was pieces of chicken sitting in a runny, tasteless fuschia pink sauce. We would not recommend.

Visited while in Hay for the festival. We had read some poor reviews but we decided we would give it a try and to be honest, it couldn't be faulted. Very busy, as you would expect during that weekend but staff were friendly and pleasant. Drinks, starters and main course all arrived promptly and the food was well presented, hot and plentiful. And very very good. We had chicken peshwari and chicken madras, both very tasty and sides were all lovely. Would recommend it to anyone visiting hay on wye.
