On the main road, good car park. Traditional, unmodernised pub, lots of seating. Many functions advertised for different nights of the week. Friendly locals. Good, knowledgeable bar staff. Basic pub food served.

Looks can be deceiving.
We read the reviews on Trip Advisor which encouraged us to visit here for an evening drink as the exterior hides the hidden treasure.
We returned the following evening as we enjoyed the drinks so much and were also looking forward to joining in the local quiz.
The food and welcome were lovely. Food is typical local pub food with specials on the board, my wife enjoyed the local lamb cawl. The Glasbury bitter was a great session beer as the Butty Bach is too strong if you also hope to take part in a quiz!
The hosts were very friendly and prices reasonable too.
The quiz made our evening even better as the quiz master had written a very interesting set of questions and conducted it in a very friendly manner. We would definitely recommend this place for a meal and why not join in the quiz on a Thursday at 8.30pm?

Very friendly and welcoming, even for our well behaved dog. Hadn't booked in but was made to feel welcome. Good selection of food on menu much of which is hone cooked and good dink selection.

Wonderful welcome from the 'gaffer' as soon as we walked in, and soon found ourselves chatting with some friendly regulars. Great traditional pub atmosphere. Wonderful selection of drinks including the wonderful Butty Bach on draught which was perfectly conditioned and served.
