“Stylish mountain retreat”

Booked this beautifully restored farmhouse and barn for a girls weekend. We arrived in fresh snow which added to the magical location of this idyllic holiday home tucked neatly between Hay Bluff and Lord Herefords Knob. The location is perfect for access to local walks from the door and easy to get into Hay for some food and shopping. We breakfasted in the barn with its amazing view up the mountain and had cosy suppers in front of the fire in the farmhouse. The hot tub was just right for a glass of fizz and watching the sun go down on the day. We would have preferred single beds rather than having to share doubles which is why I've given 4 for the rooms - other than that one of the best holiday rentals we've stayed in, and we've stayed in quite a few!

“Magnificent!”
Reviewed 20 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

We had a very pleasant stay there!
Every detail of the cottage was beautiful. There was nothing you would need and couldn't find in the cottage.
and the location is fantastic if you like green mountains and fields filled with sheep and horses. The hot tub was fantastic after long walks in the country.

“LOVED IT!!”
Reviewed 17 March 2012 for a stay in February 2012

I don't normally take the time to write a review, but my partner and I stayed in the barn conversion here for three nights and we absolutely loved it.
I spent quite a lot of time researching where to stay in Hay-on-Wye, save your self the time and book here. Steve was great and very helpful!

“Caemarchog. Most beautiful location, amazing house, luxury relaxation!”
Reviewed 18 February 2012 for a stay in August 2010

This amazing house has the feel of real luxury, the contemporary decor compliments many original features. 10 of us including 4 teenagers stayed in the main house and barn and it still felt that the space was still, calm and time stood still. We played family games as well of making use of the supplied games consoles for the children. The hot tub was an added bonus, and we made good use of the bar b q. We were well stocked from the local amenities, the shop was a 10 drive away, however it was a pleasure to drive down the mountain taking in the amazing scenery. We were a little worried about taking teenagers to a remote relaxing destination, we need not of worried, the house was so amazing nobody wanted to leave. The water was supplied from a natural spring and the kitchen was a pleasure to prepare meals in. The open log fire was well used, and TV reception was excellent, not the we watched it much. We enjoyed long walks, long evenings, and a wonderful week. When we did eventually leave the house, the local shops in Hay on Wye were a pleasure to visit. On our arrival we were met personally by the owner, and given a tour around. He even visited during our week to check we were all happy and had everything we needed. This was an amazing holiday, I can not recommend Caemarchog enough........... a real tranquil place, to take out the pace of life for a few days........... AMAZING!!

“Log Fires, Hot Tub and Stunning Scenery”
Reviewed 12 February 2012 for a stay in November 2011

This was an amazing weekend break with the girls. Fabulous house and barn conversion with everything you would wish to have in a holiday rental and more.
Local horse-riding stables available nearby to explore the wonderful outdoors, then back to a much-needed soak in the hot tub over-looking the stunning scenery!
Log fires, red wine and plenty of room for an entertaining saturday night on the mountainside.
The beautiful town of Hay-on-Wye is only a short drive away - excellent for shopping.
Altogether a very memorable weekend and would highly recommend to all.
