OK, given there is a reference to "pie" in just about every recent review, you could be excused for thinking that it's all about the pies. But there is more to this place than pies.
Firstly there is a nice area outside up front so you can have a drink and watch the world go by. Good range of beers (had a decent stout the name of which escapes me - Porterhouse?). Better still they allow dogs inside so took them with us when we went inside to eat. And yes we did all eat pies (which were excellent), but there is a far wider menu which looked good.
Small downside was that the barstaff/waiting staff, while charming, were being run ragged. The chap who served us behind the bar also appeared to doubling up as a waiter. Perhaps they were short staffed - but that did not detract from the overall experience. Will definitely be back on our next visit to the town.
