“EXCELLENT”
Reviewed 15 September 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We stayed here for a two week stay i Ireland with a group of 15 people. We also hired Coopers Cottage across the road for the extra three people.
What to say! Perfect, Magnificent, Excellent, Beautiful This house is absolutely fantastic and is well equipped. There is everything you can think of and more. Eamon and Stella were excellent hosts and took care of all our needs when asked without hesitation. They are wonderful people. The house is extremely well maintained.
The house is situated about 1 3/4 hours from Dublin. It is in the County of Tipperary, middle south of Ireland. There is a small village four minutes drive called Bansha, but the bigger town of Tipperary is about 10 minutes drive away and offers bigger supermarkets forall you food requirements.
In the town of Bansha we hired a 16 seater bus from Bansha Buses, for a day trip as a group around the Ring of Kerry. Stella and Eamon suggested prior to our visit, and then once there they organised it all for us.
Getting back to the house. The photos are exactly as it is. There are six queen & king bedrooms all with their own ensuites, and beautifully furnished and decorated. Downsatirs there is a formal lounge, massive dining room, a smaller tv room, and a wonderfully equipped kitchen with everything you need. The ;aundry area is situated outside in a outbuilding, but this proved not a problem.
As I mentioned before, we had a group of 15, originally 14! I emailed Stella after seeing this property on Trip Advisor, and asked if any of the downstairs room could accomodate a sofa bed, or something for the extra couple. She promptly emailed back and suggested Coopers Cottage for the excess, which I believe is their original home, and is literally one minute walk from the main house down the driveway. This turned out wonderfully as we had an extra guest bringing the group to 15. They did not charge us extra for this person. How often do you get that. Coopers Cottage has three bedrooms, and is well equipped, but didnt have a washing machine though. It is a wonderful extra for those groups with extra people staying with a big group.
The adtual position of the house is great, especially for the southern tourists spot we all want to see whilst in Ireland. Everything is within an hours drive of the house. Galway is about hour and half. We even did a day trip to Belfast, which was a 3 hour drive up and then back, but quite easily done on the freeways.
I would not hesitate recommending this house for any large gatherings whilst in Ireland. It was fantastic. As you can see I have done a lot of travelling all over the world, and I can honestly say that Rathellen House is probably one of the best places I have booked.
Take my hat of to both Stella and Eamon, wish you both best of luck in the future, thank you for a wonderful stay.

“The Rathellen House is a magnificent property managed by lovely people!”
Reviewed 21 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

The Rathellen House is truly a home away from home for anyone who is visiting this picturesque region of Ireland. After turning off of a quiet county road and onto the long private driveway, my family’s first impression of the house was a combination of tranquility and beauty. Tranquility radiates from the well-kept grounds and peaceful atmosphere of the house. There was nothing better than returning to such a relaxing and restful property at the end of a busy day of sightseeing.

This home, beautifully decorated throughout with portraits of rustic hunting scenes and Waterford crystal, boasts an amazing master bedroom with a four-post bed, a spacious dining room, a cozy living room, and a large fully equipped kitchen.

The heart of this property’s beauty and charm has been carefully cultivated, managed, and cared for by its dedicated homeowners Eamonn and Stella. They have enabled this property to truly be a home to all travelers who rest under its roof. They are diligent, helpful, insightful, and friendly throughout the entire rental process and they added an element to our family vacation that helped to make the trip of a lifetime. I am eternally grateful for their services and wish them continued success.

In summary, the Rathellen House is a magnificent property managed by lovely people and I give it my highest recommendation.

This house along with Coopers cottage which they own and operate too is fantastic, a group of 15 of us stayed at both and by far this was the best place. The Irish breakfast is something you must try and the views are spectacular. Overall a must visit

“Beautiful Lodge”
Reviewed 23 November 2015 for a stay in April 2014

This place nestled in the countryside not far from Tipperary in a small town called Bansha is simply delightful. By memory 6 large spacious rooms all with ensuite. Beautifully appointed. The hosts Eammon and Stella are simply amazing. We had a meal for guests one day and there Eammon was with his apron on supervising the kitchen. We were here for a wedding and this was one of the highlights of the trip. Best you look it up to see what it offers but its a magnificence place. The only negative was occasionally the wireless would cut out but i am pin pricking. Thank you Eammon and Stella for a wonderful stay. Regards Peter McTaggart

“The PERFECT family vacation ”
Reviewed 6 September 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Our family (seven of us) stayed in this wonderfully centrally located luxurious vacation home. It would not even be appropriate to call this home a rental, it was our home for two weeks as we traveled to many locations throughout Ireland. Stella and Eammon, the owners, we're so gracious and helpful in assisting us in our first (and certainly not last) trip to Ireland.

The home was spacious yet warm and inviting and really allowed a reconnection among our family. The kitchen was fantastic with every amenable we needed and the dining room perfect for a place to gather in the morning and evening. The bedrooms were so comfortable and spacious allowing for everyone in our group to have their own. Every aspect of the home is well cared for, working and absolutely spotless. A credit to the owners as to the care they have for their home.

I would also add the cost of the home, for two weeks, was extremely attractive and affordable when balancing what the cost of an equivalent four star hotel would have cost!

We would recommend this home for any get away to the beautiful countryside of Ireland. Our future plans will certainly include a return trip.

To Stella and Eammon thank you again for making this trip our family's "Trip of a Lifetime", our teenage children still are raving about our stay!
