My wife & I stayed 5 nights at this lovely "wee" garden flat, with the intention of doing some Munro bagging in the nearby area. Everything you needed was at the flat and it had a nice "home from home" feel to it, which was really appreciated after a long day of walking (the Scottish weather was perfect and enabled us to walk every day, except for one rainy day)!
The owners have done a good job, and the little touches (eg vase of fresh flowers on the living room table, milk in the fridge) made you feel welcome - plus being able to sit out in the garden to watch the bird visitors during the day, or stargaze at night, was a nice bonus. There was also a "little black" folder in the living room giving information of places to eat/visit, local walks, useful numbers for any emergencies, and also instructions on how to use the appliances, as well as a basket containing tourist leaflets (which were up-to-date) - another nice touch, well thought out!
The flat is well placed as there are plenty of walks and places to visit in the area, so a car is not essential if you don't want to venture very far; one place that is worth a visit is The Hermitage (visited on the day it rained) which is a 2 minute car drive up the A9 - watching salmon leaping up the waterfall in front of Ossian's Hall was amazing!
There was no problem at all with parking, we were able to park outside each day; plus it was nice and quiet, even though the flat is just off the main route through Dunkeld.
All in all our break was lovely, and we would definitely recommend the Wee Garden Flat to anyone thinking of visiting the Dunkeld area.
