“A fantastic dining experience”
Review of The Scottish Deli

The Scottish Deli
Ranked #7 of 23 Restaurants in Dunkeld
Certificate of Excellence
Description: The Scottish Deli consists of two high class delicatessens - one in Pitlochry and the other in Dunkeld along with a production kitchen and small holding. Our belief is that the Deli is out there… it’s the Mountains, the Moors, the Rivers, the Lochs, the Fields and Hedgerows – home to some of the best foods in the world - grown, nurtured, foraged and cherished by producers of undeniable quality.

I had a light lunch - they have over 20 sandwich options - that was tasty and hit the spot. Went to dinner there, as I was staying in Dunkeld, for a tapas dinner. Their cheese platter was sensational and the service was super. Since I was unable to finish my dinner, they packed it up and wrote down the names of the different cheeses!

This is our second visit and on both occasions, we have yet to be disappointed. Coffees, brownies and hot cross buns (Easter weekend) were very nice. They have a good delicatessen too.

Visited as part of a weekend break in Dunkeld , booked early evening really welcoming staff and lovely choices of Tapas , nice wine as well. Well worth a visit if you are in area. Prawns , calamari and haggis lovely. We wondered if three tapas each would be enough but it was plenty

A fantastic range of local products and not at extortionate prices either. The café did a lovely coffee during the day and it was a lovely place to escape from the rain!

My boyfriend and I stopped here for lunch before heading home after a stay in Dunkeld. We didn't actually realise it was a cafe until we went inside, we just popped in for a nosey round the shop and were pleasantly surprised by a really nice-sounding menu! The shop itself is laid out really nicely, it really is a traditional delicatessen with loads of nice goodies. The lunch we had was nice enough and there was loads of choice. The staff were also pleasant. The one thing I would say is that the tables are positioned right in front of some of the shelves meaning your lunch could be disturbed by someone doing their shopping! There is an adjoining room where the alcohol is kept-perhaps it would be better used for the seating..? Would return and recommend and would give this place a 'good' rather than just 'average' rating if it was an option..
