“Beautiful, luxurious lodge”
Reviewed 4 March 2015 for a stay in February 2015

My girlfriend and I stayed at Ruskin Lodge in February and had a wonderful time. We were amazed at how spacious it was, with a very large lounge, a dining kitchen and big bedrooms. The wooden log-cabin interior makes it really cosy and romantic in the evenings, and it is set in a very quiet woodland setting with the start of a fantastic rocky glen and waterfall walk literally a couple of minutes away from the door (Puck's Glen - don't miss it - it's amazing!). Benmore gardens are close by too, which we went to a couple of times. We saw red squirrels both in the gardens and outside the cabin, and could hear an owl (or owls?) in the evening.

We have stayed in various lodges/log cabins across Scotland and Ruskin Lodge was undoubtedly the best. It was equipped with everything we needed and has a real feel of luxury. Despite the time of year we had reasonably good weather, and the cabin felt super-welcoming when we got home from our walks. Abigail has thoughtfully provided electric blankets which is a great idea, and the bed was extremely comfortable. We'll definitely be back!

“Wonderful Cabin in beautiful surroundings. One of our best holidays”

We had a tremendous time, one of our best Christmas' ever, and also one of our best holidays. The owners of the cabin were helpful from the very start, and answered all queries along the way. We took our 1 yr old son and our dog, and the cabin was perfect for all our needs. Exceedingly clean with delightfully cosy decor. It felt homely and cosy without making it feel like you were in someone else's home. The kitchen has all the equipment you need for self-catering holiday. We love cooking and was pleased with how clean everything was. The bed was super comfortable, and there was all the basic baby equipment that we needed, also super clean. Then of course, there is the stunning surroundings. So many walks we couldn't do them all, and all of them easy to follow. We particularly fell in love with the gorge a 30 second walk away - a walk alongside waterfalls. Absolute Bliss. Also make sure you check out the Botanic Gardens only a 20 minute walk away. Stunning! If you like ale get over to Loch Fine Ales Brewery about 45 mins drive, and on the way stop for a meal at The Creggans Inn overlooking Loch Fyne. Beautiful. We cant recommend this holiday enough.

“Beautiful relaxing break”
Reviewed 30 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Just enjoyed a lovely relaxing break here with husband, grown up family and dog . The lodge is very comfortable, well equipped and tastefully decorated, set in beautiful, peaceful surroundings. Lots of countryside walks , plenty to see and do . The owners have thought of everything to make you feel comfortable , lovely welcome pack and even provided treats for the pooch ! Pucks Glen is a truly magical place to visit , we were lucky to see the waterfalls in full force after the recent heavy rain . Hope to return here again soon :)

“Beautiful lodge and a stunning location. A fantastic holiday :-)”
Reviewed 18 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Our family have just spent a wonderful week at Ruskin Lodge. A beautiful, cosy and comfortable lodge with lots of extras provided. The welcome basket was such a nice surprise and the beds were just so comfy! The owners have put a lot of effort into providing a very homely lodge.

It is situated next to Puck's Glen and just down the road from Benmore Botanical Gardens, both a must see. Only a short drive into Dunoon where you'll find all the amenities you need.

We were amazed by all the wildlife. Red deer spotted through the lounge window and a young red squirrel came to visit, for nuts, most days. The variety of birds just outside were amazing. We even saw a couple of seals down at Holy Loch as we sat eating fish supper at Lazaretto Point.

The rain didn't stay away, but it made Puck's Glen even more spectacular - it was absolutely stunning! We've never seen anywhere like that before.

We'll certainly be recommending this place to all our friends and family. Thank you xx

“A wonderful holiday in a stunning location staying in a beautiul lodge”
Reviewed 4 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Spent a week in Ruskin Lodge in July. Surrounded by forest, we saw from our windows red squirrels, deer ,dragonflies and bats to name just a few. Photos don't do this beautiful lodge justice. High ceilings give this lodge a very spacious feel. Fully equipped, with lovely extra touches. I will definitely be recommending Ruskin Lodge to friends and family.
