“Idyllic cottage with stunning views”

Had a fantastic family holiday at Little Knapp. A great size cottage which is very well appointed - a real home from home with lots of little luxuries. Decor is so tasteful and in keeping with the age of the building. The kitchen has everything you would ever need (and more!) in addition to a utility room at the back of the cottage housing other appliances. The most amazing views were from the kitchen window seat - I could have sat gazing out all day! Loved the log burning fire too, so cosy in the living room.
Upstairs the two en-suite bathrooms were a bonus in really good sized bedrooms.
The Garden is a fantastic size and great for the children to run around in. It has a very large pond*, but wasn't an issue for us as the children weren't left alone out there. They even did a bit of pond dipping!
Half way through the week sheep were moved to a neighbouring field to the delight of our children, who loved having sheep as neighbours! Also saw small bats flying around at night, so fab place for nature lovers.
Found the location to be perfect too in beautiful Exmoor but just a short drive (about 5 minutes) to the beach at Minehead and Dunster Castle a little further on which is well worth a visit.
By far, the best cottage we have rented over the years and we really hope to return.

* So glad children are allowed at this property. Thanks to Tanzie and Richard for allowing parents to make the decision to stay, as it is such a shame that so many cottages with ponds exclude families.

N.B. I noticed several reviews on here from guests with dogs. If this may put you off staying don't let it, you will be missing out ! The cottage was immaculately clean with not a dog hair in sight! And animals are not allowed upstairs (stair gate provided).

“Cosy & dog friendly”
Reviewed 25 December 2013 for a stay in December 2013

Wonderful cottage with everything you need. The log burner is great and creates a lovely cosy atmosphere on the long dark evenings of winter. Most important to us was that the cottage would be dog friendly. Matched all our needs perfectly. Thank you

“Amazing location, beautifully decorated and very cosy!”
Reviewed 25 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

Myself, my partner and our dog were given a very warm welcome by the hosts. The cottage is stunningly decorated and had everything we needed for a weekend of long walks in country. We especially enjoyed returning to the roaring fire after a walk in the woods and on Wootton common nearby! The location is brilliant for exploring some of the best bits of Exmoor. with Grabbist, Selworthy Beacon and Dunkery Beacon not too far away!
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to anyone venturing to Exmoor.
