Description: Historic Harbour side Pub Inn & Hotel. A landmark building with its history of hospitality going back over 100 years. Our atmospheric restaurant and pub food experience will be very much 'River Cottage' style with Seafood, Fresh Fish, Local Farm Produce, Seasonal ingredients, Carvery, Kids Menu Not forgetting Celiac gluten free, dairy free there is lots of choice. If we cannot grow it or raise it on our farm, you can be sure it is locally sourced and the very best of quality. From home smoked bacon to our own baked breads you won't go hungry. Alfresco eating with beautiful scenic views. Great Beers & Wines. Cosy in winter with a real fire. Completely refurbished during the summer of 2013

Our visit to the ship aground was a weds evening and corresponded with their specials of American diner food.
As we get over to the USA every December we decided this would put us in the frame before this year's trip. Starting with Sweet corn fritters with a cream sauce was a good choice, our mains were slow cooked brisket with mash potatoes and American slaw and Mac and cheese with pulled pork.
Both were well presented and had good textures and taste..would say it's more Southern based food rather than American diner food. Have a look at Dennys menu to see the difference.
Beer choices are very good and our server was excellent and extremely attentive.

What a Sunday lunchtime !
Picked this place off TA while at Butlins for a weekend. Amazing atmosphere for a Sunday lunchtime. Carvery was to die for and the music in the bar just made it a special occasion. Could have stayed till closing time. Make sure you get here !!

We arrived towards the end of lunchtime service but we were made to feel very welcome and not rushed to order or eat our food. The menu is extensive for lunch but we both selected the pork belly. Oh boy!
it was quickly served to us and obviously cooked fresh. It was very tasty and the pak choi made a nice change to the usual veg served.
We were offered pudding even though service was actually over. We appreciated this offer but were comfortably full from the main. Hubby enjoyed the local beer choice
All the staff we met were genuinely happy to see us and took an interest in why we were there and wished us well as we left.
Our visit was short but we will long remember the food and service we received. We definitely will visit again when in the area
