This place was originally earmarked for building on when the Highwoods development was being planned but with a concerted campaign the area of 198 acres of woods and surrounding fields were saved and are now managed as a country park. There is a visitor centre, small lake, set aside wildlife areas and an extensive network of waymarked walks, cycle ways and paths. This is a popular green space well used by local residents and visitors from further afield. Good views towards the town from some of the higher places as well.
