Not a lot to see when you get to the top of the Great Orme, but the Tramway is a OK to visit the area. The views are limited so don't expect a great panorama.

My Better 'Alf and I decided that the only way to see the views from the Great Orme was on the tramway, so that we did. There is a dedicated car-park, but be aware that it is a stiff uphill walk, but if an old geezer like me can do it, you shouldn't struggle. There are trams every twenty minutes, with a change at the Halfway Station which is, believe it or not, half way up. It is one steep journey, at a lovely leisurely pace, with the cars cable-hauled. The vehicles are spotlessy clean and the crews were lovely and chatty. I know that the Great Orme centre is a bit touristy, but if you walk just a few yards away there are some incredible views, a lovely agricultural feel to it, and you can totally escape. Whether you want to go for the tourist shops/cafe/Victorian photographs or to hide from the world, the Tramway is easily the best way to do it. I loved it.

I had to queue for over an hour to go on this trip due to crowds because of the sunny weather, but it was well worth the wait! The trams are such attractive vehicles, they reminded me of Switzerland! I was surprised that the tramlines went up a very steep hill at the side of the road, but once we reached the more level top of Great Orme, the track was more like a train. At the first station we had to walk along to a second waiting tram, then there was another short ride up to the summit. The views and scenery were amazing, and it was well worth the trip at £6.20 (I think) for a senior one-way ticket.

The tram was well presented and clean. The ride is just like any other commute really, except your in one of those beautiful carriages. The cost for an adult was £6.60 one way or £8.10 return. My tip is to get a seat facing backwards on the journey up for some fantastic photos. You change trams at the half way station where you can continue your journey to the summit on another tram or visit the copper mine before heading up. Great views up the top. You can buy food, drinks and souvenirs up there.
Alternatively, you can reach the summit by cable car that leaves and returns from Happy Valley. The costs were £10.00 one way and £10.50 return.
You could also drive up the top to a paid car park. Costs will depend on how long you stay with a minimum charge of £2.00.
This is a must do activity for visitors to Llandudno.

Took the tram up to the very top, the views all the way up and at the top are brilliant ,but you need a clear day , the train times are on the platform ,(both ways ) the last one down is at the entrance for boarding , if you are not sure ask!!! The price reflect 's the cost of the up keep for the tram , rails . Motor's etc .when you reach the summit they is a cafe plus shop and toilets , If you feel fit purchase a one way ticket ,walk down to the half way point and visit the centre, a lovely walk back down to Llandudno with amazing views .Pub at the bottom also chippy.
