“Very good but with drawbacks”
Reviewed 14 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

This apartment is in an excellent position and easy walking distance for both the sea front & shops.
For 4 adults staying the double bedroom is quite claustrophobic and in the bigger bedroom only one bulb worked in the main light.
The bath plug wasn't working so we had to use a flathead screwdriver to leaver it out and as the fan took half an hour to go off, at night time we had to use the hall lights to enter the bathroom. We then used the loo and cleaned our teeth in the dark otherwise the people who were in the double room (next to the bathroom) couldn't sleep until the fan stopped. There were inadequate towels and although it was advertised bath "sheets" only bath towels were provided so we had to use 2 of the beach towels.
The settee wasn't at all comfortable as you kept slipping off and the floorboards squeaked everywhere making it very difficult to walk around if someone was already in bed.
The apartment itself had everything you could wish for, was very clean and airy, although the week we were staying we had some very noisy people above us. We think there was a youngster as we had running footsteps above us on most days. On hindsight we felt it was a little on the expensive side although Angela provided us with a bottle of wine, chocolates and milk which was very thoughtful - especially the milk so we could have a brew on arrival.

Thanks for finding time for the review and great to hear that you enjoyed the apartment and its fab location, very close to the beach, theatres and town centre.
The owner takes great pride in the quality, impeccable cleanliness and styling of the apartment and would always ensure that any issues such as blown light bulbs are dealt with immediately so I am sorry that you never mentioned it.
Had you mentioned the heavy-footed guests above you she would also have had a quiet word as she always does her utmost to provide an enjoyable experience for all.
Leather sofas can be a little polarising - whilst they look amazing and some enjoy the feel, I appreciate that they are not necessarily for everyone.
All linen is provided as well as nice little touches such as toiletries, fizz on arrival, chocolates and milk for a cuppa.
Apologies for the misunderstanding on the 'bath sheets' - the term refers to large bath towels rather than actually of a 'sheet' size and, of course, hand towels are also provided, plus bath mats. Bath robes are also provided which again reflects the overall quality of the apartment and the official 'Gold' standard it has achieved via the VisitEngland grading scheme.
I hope we see you again
Carl

Hi there and thanks for finding time to review Cavendish Apartment.
Great to hear that you loved the location, close to the beach and town centre and the period building in which it is set.
The interior is very light and contemporary and certainly feels like home so people are very respectful when they stay there.
Thanks again

Hello and thank you for the lovely words.
The owner makes great efforts to be helpful and is extremely thoughtful, providing a bottle of fizz and a welcome pack of goodies and will readily provide recommendations on local restaurants and sights.
The stylish and firm leather sofa might polarise opinion - most guests enjoy it whilst others prefer a slouchier feel. It can be tricky to hit a sweet spot for everyone, I guess.
Thanks again for your comments.

“Ideal location, apartment delightful”
Reviewed 6 March 2013 for a stay in February 2013

Ideally located within a few minutes walk of excellent theatres, shopping centre, station and beach.
Main draw back was on street parking which could be a problem in the summer months but a car really isn't needed.
The apartment was spacious and clean with very comfortable beds.A.large bathroom with jacuzzi bath and shower. Towels for the beach also provided. No need to take basic toiletries as these were provided. Everything one could possible need in the kitchen. A lovely welcome pack.
I can certainly highly recommend this lovely apartment.

Thanks for finding the time for a review.
Great to hear you enjoyed the apartment and its location - it takes some beating, doesn't it?!
The parking permits do work very well, including over the summer months, allowing you to park directly outside and also over quite a wide part of the town if you fancy looking around. All for just £1 per day.
Thanks again and hope to see you again soon.
