Owner description: Fløyen is a must do while in Bergen. Fløibanen, the funicular brings you up the hillside, from Bergen city centre to the top of the mountain in 6 minutes. At Mount Fløyen you will find beautiful views of Bergen, the nearby islands, fjords and mountains surrounding Bergen. Fløyen is a great destination for hiking, mountain biking and soft adventures. We are surrounded by hillsides, mountains, forests, nice little lakes and numerous trails. We offer daily guided hikes “Hiking Mount Fløyen" and Mountain bike rental from mid June until mid August. We love children, and the children love Fløyen. Let the kids explore our playground, Fløysletten climbing playground, the Troll forest. Try out canoe paddling at lake Skomakerdiket (mid June - mid August), feel the adrenalin rush in FløyenKids ziplinepark and get at kiss from our lovely goats at Fløyen. Fløistuen shop and cafè have souvenirs, perfect gifts and memories from Bergen and Norway. We offer local food as “Fløyenbollen", the cinnamon-bun and our organic soup “Fløyensuppen". Fløien Folkerestaurant is open daily from May until September.

Stunning views of the city below. There is also a lake and hiking trails at the top. Go early to avoid the crowds.

Perhaps I’ve ridden too many of these but I was not overly impressed. It did give a nice view of Bergen and that’s what you go up there for. So if you like a nice view, it’s worth the trip. There is a small gift shop and a restaurant at the top but we didn’t actually eat there.

Went up to Mount floyen on the impressive funicular and decided, spontaneously, to go for a little hike. 4km later I stumbled across the most amazing viewpoint, a little past the brushytten cafe. I've never been lost for words like that before. The funicular and floyen is a gateway to so many fairly hidden gems and is a must do if you're able bodied.

Apart from the typical Norwegian coloured and wooden houses, disciplined traffic, excellent public transport to walk to Mount Floyen was a splendid experience. You can take the Floibanen but walking along the characteristic houses and into the clean forest you have an impressive view over Bergen, unforgettable. Norwegians were very friendly and help us to arrive at the top. We walked further to the small lakes. Unfortunately the weather was not optimal otherwise we liked to walk further to Mount Ulriken. On our way back we took another road and arrived in a district behind the city hall with the "Marken" street as main center. Visit the surrounding, Tourist operators did not discovered it yet, so visit it before it is too late. Take a look at the Lepramuseet, an eye-opener: go further to the railway station, nice Art-Deco style, walk further and you arrive at the Museum district, Kode 1-4.

First thing to do when you arrive Bergen? Go up Mount Floyen! It's really easy to get there on foot to the base of the mountain if you're staying in town centre. Just buy the funicular car tickets at the ticketing counter. No need to buy beforehand. The view on top is spectacular. We were there at 6pm early June and the sky was supper clear and sunny. There's playground for kids, walking trails, café etc. Could easily spend around 2 hours here. It's a must see place if you're in Bergen!
