The tour was well set up and the guides which were all friendly and helpful.

After about 45mins on a coach you get to the location , you go straight up for a safety briefing and told all about what to do and not to do. Then you get put in pairs, if your solo like me you will get put with another solo person or a guide.
You then put on your winter suite and if you want boots which they provide.

You are given a bit of wood with a number of your dog team on it.
You go outside and find your team of dogs and sleigh and I had about 10mins to fuss the dogs and take a few photos.

We then set of, I was paired with a guy who didn't understand any English so that was challenging.

We spent just under 1hr on the sleigh out with the dogs going along a track through some wooded areas. The views were good despite the heavy snow and you swap a couple of times.

It was an amazing experience and fun, although sometimes a bit messy/smelly on the track at times but that's to be expected.

The dogs are amazing and love to run but you do need to get off quite a lot and give them a hand up hills so you do need moderate fitness. But that is all part of being a team.

When you get back in you get 10mins or so to fuss the dogs and get a couple more photos then you go and get changed back into your own clothes and then down for a quick cup of hot chocolate and cake then it back on the coach to Tromso.

I would highly recommend this trip although a bit more time to fuss all the dogs would of been nice but obviously with the amount of people doing this activity throughout the day time is limited. And the dogs welfare is the only priority.

So thank you for this special experience.

I can’t speak highly enough of Tromsø Safari. They were always very professional and friendly towards us throughout our stay. For a few of our tours we had a guide called Ellie. She was so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. There wasn’t anything that was too much trouble for her. She is a real asset to Tromsø Safari. The Northern lights trip and Huskey dog sled rides were very very good and even though they are expensive i felt we got real value for money.

I was working on planning this trip for many years and based on my research i decided to go with the mini bus tour with our Captain of the bus Andreas and Guide Aiyaka from Japan. Like a baby asking parents when will we see the lights i kept asking everyone the same thing. Aiyaka explained about the lights and conditions needed. We stopped at a spot where we couldn't see anything and i was already sad. We drove for a couple of hours before reaching this spot. Anyhow, we drove again for 20 minutes closer to the finish border i think where Aiyaka asked Andreas to park the bus in one corner and as soon as we stepped out the magic began. We could see the dancing lights with shades of pink dancing from one side to another. That was breathtaking. Aiyaka then took our pictures, yeah you dont have to worry about carrying your camera adjusting it. Leave it to our guide, she took amazing pics and all i had to do was to enjoy the view. The hot chocolate and Leffe were amazing and i enjoyed it so much that i booked for the tour again next day with the same crew. The conditions were very cloudy and predictions were very low. It started snowing but Aiyaka and Andreas knew where to go. We went to an island with a frozen lake, a mountain and a moonlit sky. Guess what the lights started and i just lie on the ice with the thermal suit on and kept looking at the sky for almost an hour. After more than 1.5 hours of amazing lights we started to head back and guess what we saw the lights again and this time you could actually see the solid green color. Typically what you see in the pics are stronger colors than what you see in the sky but on some occasions when the conditions are perfect you will see those solid colors. Thank you Aiyaka and Andreas for making this the best trip of my life. I am coming again....soon

In our 3rd attempt we finally saw the northern lights, and we saw them dancing.
Thank you for an amazing night.

Ayaka, our tour guide, is a camera buff - and a very nice person. She managed to get my cameras in the right installation way - wow. She´s smart, she´s nice, she´s pretty.

Couldn´t be more happy.
