It is free to enter so I shouldn't complain too much but a lot of the plants were dead or dying. All the staff were at the entrance where the university students use the facilities to learn about the plants, so all the area round there was immaculate.

Vienna is Nice walked by foot and suddenly, around a corner, from the hustle in the street outside, or from the tourists at the palace on the other side. An oasis of trees and meadow landscape, filled with flowers and insects. And, - one is allowed to walk on the grass. Small, no shops or cafes but calm and soothing.

Not huge or amazing but a very pleasant restful place for a stroll with some lovely plants/flowers/trees depending on season. We were there just as the magnolias were flowering and the trees were in fresh green leaf. Respite from the hot sun.

We found an entrance opposite the cafe on the side of Belvedere Palace. Winding paths and labels on the many plants and trees made for a relaxing stroll. Didn't expect many flowers to be out but there were some, plus trees breaking out into blossom. It will be lovely in the summer.

Honestly october is not quite good time to visit any garden. But I realized in october too that Vienna BG is lovely and peaceful place in the middle of big city. It´s full of beautiful flowers, trees... Sorry, I'm not botanist: I only have two eyes, nose and very curious mind. Don't miss the huge Belvedere Palace with garden. It´s in neighborhood.
