Owner description: Awaiting you at the Imperial Treasury Vienna in the Hofburg Palace is the Austrian Imperial Crown and the insignia of the Holy Roman Empire with the Imperial Crown and the Holy Lance. Other highlights include the treasure of the Order of the Golden Fleece and parts of the immensely opulent treasure of the Dukes of Burgundy from the 15th century. Also on show is the original jewellery of Empress Elisabeth and legendary treasures such as the agate bowl associated with the Holy Grail, the world’s largest cut emerald, and the »horn« of the mythical unicorn.

We enjoyed the Treasury and consider it a must. We thought there would be more Crown Jewels as we had just toured the treasury in Munich. This exhibit has most of the robes worn and some fun things like a unicorn horn lance. Also has exhibit of reliquaries which were not fully explained.

Did like the flow and English translated explanations.

Although it was an interesting display, after visiting London's crown jewels last summer, I wasn't too impressed with this collection, nor its presentation. The most interesting item was the royal bassinet that was for Napoleon's baby.

I believe it is also called " The Imperial Treasury " Well worth it to see all genuine gems and big ones at that. They were huge , never see gems so big.
I was amazed that although the notices say " No Photography " Everybody was taking them and the staff just ignored them.So we followed suit. It is not too big a place so you can easy fit it in with other sights in the area. ( and they are Many )

The best thing about this place is that it’s beautiful and easy to reach. We went to the Hofburg and through the swiss door enter the treasury museum. The dresses and the sword ⚔️ with precious stones is so beautiful preserved that seems like from yesterday. I believe we went through 20 or so odd rooms which took us back to 16 century, the Habsburg family collections over the years. The most important thing to see is, The Agate Bowl supposed to be the largest carved stone bowl in the world.
There are restrictions of taking photographs and some without flash. When buying ticket for museums buy a combination ticket as it’s cheaper. This museum can be done in about 2 hours and less. Enjoy each and every moment in there never know when you visit again.

I only visited the imperial jewel house as I had a joint ticket with the Kunsthistorisches Museum. I was very glad I did, as I can only describe it as magnificent. I was particularly impressed with the antiquity of some of the artefacts displayed, including many textiles. A highlight of my visit to Vienna.
