I went to the Richard Wagner opera on Easter Sunday. I bought tickets online (117€) and sat in the front row on the 2nd section from the top.
The building is beautiful and would recommend going an hour before the time on your ticket. (When they let you in).
You can take your time checking your coat, getting a drink and taking pictures. Don’t wait until after the performance to take photos as they block off sections and you won’t be able to access it. (I saw people disappointed bc is this)
I am torn what type of ticket I would buy if I were to go again. Because of the way the angles are everyone not sitting on the main level needs to lean over in order to see the stage. This can get uncomfortable pretty fast. The standing tickets (if you get there early and get the good ones) basically have a better view if you’re ok standing the whole time.
I would recommend going as it’s a great experience.

This is an unmissable experience and deserves the positive reputation that it’s achieved. We arrived early to explore, view and appreciate the House from different levels and positions. Although we were seated high up for the performance of Madam Butterfly and had to stretch sometimes to see the stage, the seat side tablets are a wonderful addition. The audience was very appreciative and the enthusiastic applause at the end was well deserved.

I'd never been to the opera before and still not sure it's my cup of tea but was a brilliant experience and I would encourage everyone to try it once. We sat up on the highest level but still had a great view. There are translation panels in front of every seat which translate into English or German. The building itself is gorgeous inside and out. Beautiful balconies and murals above an imperial staircase. Worth a visit even if you're not an opera fan.

Went to the Ballet in December. Bought two bottles of champagne £200 and the waitress was just plain rude. The interior of the building was very impressive and stunning. After the ballet had ended the only goal of the staff was to get you out, not even allowing time for a quick group photo. Spoiled the experience a bit. If you can get a cheap ticket well worth it though and chamers by the glass is 8 euros.

The interior is stunning. Price of admission is reasonable. Guided tour (only way) needs improving. The tour groups are too large. Guides don’t speak loudly enough and need to share sometimes before reach a place (stage is too noisy to be able to listen to guide while standing backstage). Must take your-rich stories make sites meaningful and clear. Just stay near guide.
