not many large metropolitan areas have large urban parks and even fewer have one that is so pristine. The Stadtpark (City Park) in Vienna, Austria is a large municipal park that extends from the Ringstrasse and created when the City Walls came down in the 19th century; it is about 30 acres in size and has lots of fountains, ponds, sitting areas, patterns made of flowers, sculpted bushes and with walking paths throughout. Additionally the park has dozens of statues Viennese artists, writers, and composers.
I was so impressed at how you could get away from a busy area (the Old City) and find such a quiet and pleasant area.
Next time I will spend more time at one of the cafes in the park.
