We literally made our reservation on a phone app 15 minutes before we arrived... and they were ready! The hotel is old & kind of funky. Our room was large and sufficient. There was a little bit of an odor, almost like the carpets had just been cleaned. However, things were clean, spacious, comfortable and offered all the basics we needed. There was a bar area downstairs where the reception staff also was able to serve drinks. We only stayed one night, but found the hotel was located near a good size neighborhood of walking streets with plenty of shopping, restaurants, and bars. Thanks for an enjoyable stay!

This hotel was as we expected from the photos: quite out of date but quaint. We had a good sized room with a TV. The en suite was very out of date and the shower was an inconvenience as the shower head pointed away from the bath and therefore it had to be handheld the whole time.

Breakfast was included in the price and this was nice, with a fairly good range of food and drink available. Location for the town was excellent, only a short walk away.

It also had benefits of being just a 10 minute (max) from the train station.

The good side of this was a decent breakfast with a lovely serving lady and a very large room. As others have noted, the internet reception is poor. Although some of the hotel is a bit scruffy, the rooms in the wing where we were were being done up beautifully.
One hard working person seemed to be in charge of the whole place,
There was a rather unusual soft porn-ish painting in our room - not to our taste but a change from the bland pictures in many hotels, We used my cycling jacket to cover it.

Large room, very hot in the unusual heat wave. Very close to rail & old city, this old fashioned Hotel was comfortable & relaxing with good outdoor & indoor sitting areas. The wellness centre is available in cooler months only.

Room Tip: If weather is hot, ensure you have fans in rooms

Stayed here as base for two days of sightseeing in Voralberg region. The hotel has polarizing aspects, so overall I call it average. The bad: it is an older facility that has some odd cosmetic issues, mainly in décor. It appears that the design was last updated in perhaps the early 90’s if not 80’s and only has been kept in place since. There are weird stuffed animals on display in several places (the hallway to our room had two faded stuffed bears sitting in a crib behind glass that appeared they may have been there for 20 years) I thought it funny/goofy, my wife found it creepy – old furniture placed randomly about, and worn hallway carpeting that shows of water leakage at some point that hasn’t been replaced. An abandoned nightclub is attached to the side of the building behind the outdoor veranda. The good: despite the odd visual aspects, the rooms are very spacious and clean, the bed very comfortable (although inches off the ground) the bathroom very nice with good shower, good internet, a great breakfast buffet, and a location that makes walking up to the castle or over to the old town literally a few minutes away. What the desk staff lacked in crisp professionalism they made up for in friendliness and helpfulness. This hotel has great potential to shine if the owners would put some money into new carpeting and updating decor.
