We booked this tour to follow our Sound of Music Tour. First off the location is on the side of a mountain, literally, and is super cool. The cooking section is an actual cave. We were a party of 4 (children 14 & 11) and did the strudel, Salzburg Nockerl and Goulash. The strudel and Nockerl were fun and easy to make. The goulash was superb. Johann was friendly and informative. The whole family had a great time, my kids told me several times they really enjoyed the experience. I paid online and when got there we were offered drinks. The prices were clearly marked on chalkboards and very reasonable. Some recipes were available on line but we still bought a cookbook. Why not support a nice establishment? Some people commented on the price and portion. In the end we each had a portion of Knokerl, a bowl of goulash and two huge strudels. I don’t think I would have wanted four strudels. We were paying for the experience as much as the food. All in all a great experience.

We booked Edelweiss cooking school after our Fraueline Maria bicycle tour. Owners if both companies preference each other on their websites. Edelweiss cooking school was the perfect afternoon treat fir our family. We have a 12 year old daughter who enjoys cooking. Johann the owner & chef is very kind and patient, with lots of hospitality and expertise. He demonstrated the recipient to us first, then we all giot to make our own Streudel & nockerel.(sp)
His goulash soup was amazing for lunch! Everything was clean, & well prepared. The school is located in a cave in the side of a mountain in Salzburg! Put Edelweiss cooking school on your list for your next visit to Salzburg, you will love it!

All of the cooking classes my wife and I have viewed in the USA in the past have been passive - viewing what an instructor was doing and taking notes for future reference. Yes, sampling what had been pre-prepared at the end.

The Edelweiss Cooking School class was a game-changer. Small class size. Instruction followed by total hands on interaction with our instructor. We created then ate our creations. We learned so very much. We can't speak highly enough of this experience. Edelweiss rules!

We had been to Salzburg several times before and were looking for something different, non-touristy to do. This was perfect!
