Over the years my wife and I have stayed in several hotels in Cyprus, but this hotel The Alexandra the Great is definitely the best. When we arrived at reception we were given fruit drinks, which was appreciated after a long and tiring journey, after our refreshing drinks the hotel porter took us to our room on the 3rd floor it was a side sea view, the room was spacious, and spotlessly clean, ,we couldn’t fault it, but when we went out onto the balcony, we were facing a busy noisy road I had a job seeing the sea, my wife and I went to reception and paid for a front Seaview room, it was worth it the bed and pillows were very comfortable we had an exelant sleep. We had a beautiful view of the sunset every night, we stayed in room 535 on the 2nd floor. They had the interior of the hotel beautifully decorated ready for Christmas. We were only there for 14 nights and sadly we had to leave the hotel on the 15th of December 2024 we would have loved to have stayed over the Christmas period.
This hotel is in a prime location with first-class facilities, easy walking distance to the harbour, restaurants, bus station, beautiful indoor heated swimming pool with large windows so you can see the sunset from the pool also there is a sauna and steam room, there is even an English fish & chip shop a few minutes away. We stayed half board plus, which means you can have a glass of red wine or beer and a litre of water with your meal, there is an amazing variety of food, and enough handpicked quality well trained staff, to ensure your stay is very special.
The staffs are always smiling and nothing seemed too much trouble, special thanks must go to the General Manager, (Demetris Demetriou,) and his team of managers, who are always around mingling amongst their hotel guests. Teamwork is second to none; we enjoyed it so much we are returning the end of January.
