We arrived at 10pm after a long day having flown via Istanbul, would definitely go to Larnaca next time. There was only one other couple checking in so it was quick leaving us time for a well deserved drink in the bar.
We had a garden room overlooking the road - some traffic noise but glorious views of the mountains. The room was clean, the fridge well stocked with various drinks ( no price list for these though.
We had trouble getting our air con working and once we mentioned it someone dealt with it straight away.
There are towels provided for the sun beds but I’m glad we took our own as one towel wasn’t long enough to cover the whole sun bed and boy did they get hot!! When we first arrived there were plenty of free beds but it did get busier during the week and there were noticeably more beds reserved.
The pictures don’t do it justice - the hotel is quiet and relaxing, and the grounds are beautiful. You would need to get a taxi or local bus to the town centre or harbour- a taxi cost us 20-25 TL.
There is a pharmacy and off licence just across the road and if you don’t mind a ten minute walk a bigger supermarket out of the hotel a f turn left.
There aren’t really any local bars you can walk to from the Ship - there is a fish restaurant very close which was recommended by locals (reviewed separately)
The hotel barbecue night was nice - the choice and amount of food very generous. It was also nice to have some music/dance as there’s no entertainment on other nights.
As we only had a week we booked a boat trip with the rep and a jeep safari- personally we didn’t enjoy the boat trip, although it would have suited a family with children, and I would have booked my own trip from the harbour in hindsight.
The jeep safari was fabulous- as long as you can cope with the bumps I’d definitely recommend it.
We were bed and breakfast- and found the breakfast choice really nice. Better than some we have experienced for sure, but no bacon so if that’s your preference I know it’s available at a charge. The staff are all really friendly and helpful- and very prompt clearing dishes from the table. We requested soft boiled eggs one morning and these were done for us.
We plan to return, we had a lovely relaxing holiday, thank you to everyone at the Ship Inn who made that possible.

Have just got home from a 10 day stay here. Upon arrival the staff were amazing and made sure we had settled in. We stayed in the 2 bed villa by the pool, in total there were 11 of us 1st 3 days then total of 25 for the next 7days..
First night they hosted a few and disco night, it was superb the food was gorgeous. Any problems we had they sorted straight away.
The house keepers cleaned and changed our beds every day, with fresh towels left.
Ram, Zubie , Nilay, Hasan to name a few were super friendly. My children loved all the staff and were made to feel like VIPs all holiday. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they constantly smiled..
Absolute beautiful hotel with beautiful grounds. Would most definitely stay again.
Thanks to all the staff who made mums 60th one to remember for all the right reasons.. see you all again soon x

We arrived at approx 11:00pm on 16th May for one week on a bed and breakfast basis. Very pleased with the hotel. A couple of minor issues with our room were fixed by the management with an immediate transfer to another room. The room was cleaned every day (at our convenience) and towels replaced. Bar staff always efficient, polite and friendly. Breakfast in the restaurant was good. Omelettes available on request. A reasonably priced lunchtime menu was available in the poolside bar. Scampi, spaghetti bolognese, pizzas. I have to recommend the steaks. My wife had an excellent fillet and I had a T-bone. Probably the best I've ever had!! I'm salivating now thinking about it.
We'd like to thank Nilay and Zubi and all the staff at The Ship for a very enjoyable break. We hope to return soon.

We are so lucky to have the Ship Inn as our local so when friends came over to visit it was the obvious choice for Sunday lunch.Beautiful home cooked meal which was thoroughy enjoyed by us all you really couldn't fault it. But the icing on the cake was there a sweet that was dairy free.To say my friend was impressed is an understatement. Will be back soon.Well done Nigel & all your lovely staff.

Just arrived back from the Ship after a 2 week stay in a group of 6. Hotel is situated on the main road out of Kyrenia towards Lapta. The grounds are stunning with a great selection of trees. bushes and flowers .
Our room was in one of the two blocks set across the pool from the main building and was of a good size. Facilities included excellent air-con (much needed in the unseasonable heat) and a modern bathroom . Towels were changed daily by friendly and efficient maids.
Meals were taken in the wood paneled dining room/bar area and were very good apart from 2 minor niggles. For carnivores like me the lack of bacon and only 2 sightings of sausages was a slight disapointment. Evening meals were buffet style apart from several days when they reverted to waiter service due to the hotel being quiet. Food was hot and well cooked but ice-cream would have been a bonus in the hot weather,
(talking to the many return guests they mentioned that ice cream used to be provided, but sadly no more.)
There are two bars with the pool bar open all day and after evening meals, plus the main indoor bar. Prices and choice was excellent. No entertainment was offered apart from an outside dinner/disco by the pool on one night.
Staff were uniformly brilliant and friendly .
To sum up the hotel is charming and well located and with one or two slight changes would warrant an extra star.
