A return visit to this apartment was just as enjoyable as the previous. It was a nice surprise when we arrived that the comment I previously made on here last year about the lack of a decent BBQ had been noted and, although it wasn't the modern gas type, the new kettle style coal BBQ meant we could take full advantage of the excellent local butcher and cook/eat whilst enjoying the view on the lovely terrace.
Already booked for a return visit same time next year.
We have stayed in Fuseta before, always in this same apartment block but in a number of different apartments though always with a roof top terrace.
This apartment is clean and very well equipped with comfortable furniture in excellent condition both inside and outside on the terrace. I note a previous review criticised the condition of the furniture and can only assume it has been replaced as we had absolutely no concerns and spent a lot of time simply lounging around in the sun! The beds were comfortable too and we slept very well.
As always the food in the restaurants in Fuseta was excellent, lots of fresh fish to choose from as well as good BBQ'd meats.
This time we walked to Olhao and cycled the opposite direction to Santa Luzia, both fairly simple routes along the waterfront.
This is the first time we have visited this early in the and it was cooler in the evening (apparently the weather has not been a warm as the locals were expecting) but still warm during the day.
Carlos was very helpful and kept in touch during our stay to make sure all was well.
Fabulous holiday in a lovely apartment by the sea...we've already booked to go back!
Spacious, comfortable apartment with views to die for. Comfy new patio furniture on huge patio. Easy access to road, beach and garage via lifts. Carlos was very helpful. Will definitely book again
This is a lovely, comfortable and modern apartment, however the biggest plus for us was the location and the view. Fuzeta itself is a wonderful little fishing village which hasn't yet caught up with the 21st century. Quiet and charming with courteous residents. Informal outdoor dining (lots of BBQs) with a great variety of freshly caught fish at an unbelievable price.
The apartment is right on the sea front so the view over the Atlantic & Ria Formosa Natural Park is uninterrupted. We spent hours on the apartment's spacious sun terrace watching storks, egrets and wading birds coming and going, along with the early morning clam pickers. The apartment also has a roof terrace but there was really no need for us to use it.
The local supermarkets are small and they all stock similar limited goods, but there's an excellent butcher and plenty of bakeries. There's also a large Lidl at Tavira if you have a car - we didn't, but we took the 25 minute train journey to visit Tavira and Lidl is right next to the train station.
The kitchen in the apartment is quite small so there's only space for one person to comfortably prepare food (and it's between the two bedrooms which means it's a bit 'disconnected' from those sitting in the living area), however this wasn't a big problem because it was so cheap to eat (and drink) out that it was hardly worth the effort of buying groceries and eating in.
Two restaurants are worthy of special mention. Paiol Historias & Sabores is a small inside dining restaurant serving tapas plates with generous portions and where we had the best meal of the holiday. It's only a 5 minute walk from the apartment but there are only 4 tables in this restaurant so it's essential to pre-book. The other is Casa A Corvo, a more informal outdoor dining BBQ experience on the harbour side.
The apartment is well-stocked with everything you are likely to need, including wifi. The pool area is comfortable with plenty of sunbeds and although un-heated, the pool temperature was just right for us.
There are only two things I would mention which we felt could be improved and both relate to the outside terrace area. The apartment has large full length windows and the sun terrace has glass screens so you can admire the view, however the windows and screens were really quite dirty when we arrived which rather spoiled the overall general impression. We used the terrace hose pipe to clean the windows and screens and this was a massive improvement. The second thing is the lack of a small gas sun terrace BBQ which other modern apartments of this type usually have. There was a small charcoal type BBQ on the terrace - a small tray on a basic stand - but it looked rather neglected.
Anyway, in summary we would definitely recommend this apartment if you're considering a trip to Fuzeta and we would certainly book this again were we to return.
