Not usually a fan of Irish bars but when we arrived in Torshavn this was the first bar we found that wasn't behind the festival cordon.

Wide range of drinks, bar man didn't speak much English but understood the international
Language of point and finger.

They had a nice outdoor seating area although unless you are local you'll probably need a coat all year round. Live sport shown including the World Cup

Prices are pretty standard for the Faroe Islands.
The locals are friendly including two women who kindly demonstrated how to straddle a statue of a sheep for us!

Irish pubs, whether are the officially franchised ones or some makeshift version, tend to supply the same average, slightly pricey but overall reliable pub grub, as the beer + football version of the ubiquitous burger and fried chicken analogues, and normally I tend to avoid them when I travel. For a series of incidental reasons I ended up in the one in Torshavn though, and I was positively impressed overall: the location is gorgeous, with large windows facing the private boats harbor, there are plenty of booths where a small party can have some quiet time and the food is ok and at regular prices (for Faroe). Crucially in this World Cup season, there is abundance of TV screens. The beers offer includes also the local lagers so is not only limited to the Irish/British international supply. As everywhere in the Faroe, the staff is young, friendly and chatty. Overall recommended.

After having some faxes, the munchies set in immediately. So we were looking for some soul food. We were Lucky with the pub which offers burgers, fish &chips and nachos for instance. Having in mind faroese standrads, price is quite reasonable. Staff is friendly!

Nice Irish pub, with football on the screen and excellent local beer on the tap. The food is okay, and excellent compared to the price. There is outdoor seating and a beautiful view.

My goulash soup was excellent though my partner's fish and chips were rather well done. There is live music some evenings. A mix of tourists and locals.
