Lovely (old) Town House, smart and well furnished (Apr. 2018). Two good sized bedrooms, one en-suite, the upper with wet-room half-flight spiral stairs down. Upper bedroom has good sized, private terrace, lower enclosed balcony. Living/Family room good size with sofas for 4/5, fridge/freezer, full cooking facilities. Air-con throughout. Location close to restaurants and grocery (good value) stores and short distance to all the historic and tourist attractions. Restaurants are not cheap, but (generally) really good food (exception, Angelica - dreadful). But do try the food stalls in the arcade in Merchant Street (supermarket in the basement), ALL the food is fresh, quality and delicious. Downside? The house has lots of stone stairs; stairs from living room up, are stone, spiral and narrow, so probably not nor young children or those with limited mobility. Nevertheless, the house definitely added to our stay in Valletta - lovely!
This is a lovely, tastefully decorated apartment in a very quiet and centrally located street in the centre of Valletta.
David was a wonderful and generous host.
We had a great week. We would certainly recommend this flat to others, provided that you don't mind to climb many stairs :)
The location is excellent, everything you need is just round a corner, you're in the centre of everything but the street is quiet and friendly. The views over the Grand Harbour across to the three cities from the roof terrace are superb, and you can see the sea by looking down the street from the balconies on each floor. The house is traditional and beautifully furnished; stylish modern bathroom and kitchen fittings combine with occasional antique pieces to create a great sense of place whilst remaining totally practical. The owner has thought of everything you might need, there is even an extra kitchenette on the top floor so that you don't have to go back down to the kitchen to fix your roof-terrace drinks and snacks. This is the best holiday accommodation I have ever stayed in, I'll definitely be returning.
What a fantastic property! Following a warm welcome from David the owner on arrival, we were given a tour of this amazing and tastefully decorated property. Immaculate and exceptionally well equipped which included welcome goodies, which were very much appreciated. We enjoyed a week of sun and relaxation with friends. The roof terrace was well used and provided excellent viewing for the air show and harbour activity. We enjoyed having easy access to what Valetta has to offer including the historic buildings, waterfront and swimming area. The narrow stairs in the building kept us fit. We found the building work in the centre of Valetta interesting – i.e. the restoration of the old food market. This is in anticipation of the European City of Culture 2018.
We had a fastastic stay at David's apartment. The location is perfect - you are close to everything including historical sights, pubs and restaurants, the bus terminal and the ferry. As others have explained, there are many steps in this apartment though we found them to be a charming addition (just be careful after a few wines on the terrace!) It was very hot during our stay there but the apartment has excellent air conditioning that kept the place very cool. David's communication was fantastic and everything was highly organised. He also arranged a taxi to/from the airport which was very helpful. The views was the roof terrace are amazing and it is a great place to relax. We highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a central apartment in Valletta.
