“Wonderful quaint townhouse”

Myself and my girlfriend stayed in the G-House for 7 nights at beginning of June.
We cannot praise the house enough the photos and details on website do not do it justice, it is full of character and charm in fabulous location just off the bottom of Republic St which leads you straight into the centre of Valletta.
It suited us perfectly very romantic, all the amenities you would require for a self catering vacation and within walking distance of all attractions in Valletta including some wonderful restaurants for the evenings you can't be bothered cooking.
It sometimes is the small things that make the place special like getting picked up at airport by John the house manager who offered lots of advice on what to see and do while on holiday or the welcome basket in the kitchen containing local produce to help you settle in on arrival.
Another good thing is the guest book filled in by previous visitors which gives you all the information you could possibly require on attractions, restaurants ect.
Overall we would highly recommend the Valletta g-House for a extremely relaxing and romantic break.

“Beautiful apartment with great character and amenities”
Reviewed 9 April 2015 for a stay in March 2015

My husband and I spent 9 days at Valletta G-House and were very impressed with the apartment and the service we received. We found the apartment to be even better than presented on the website. Aldo and John have taken great care in providing extra touches that make for a stress-ree and relaxing stay. Details such as the selection of DVD movies, wide range of books to read, welcome gift basket, airport pickup etc were a real treat.. Also, we found that John went out of his way to provide extra service such as the offer of assisting with transportation to our next destination - Mdina (he even provided us with a personalized map of Mdina). The apartment is located in a non-touristy area but within short walking distance of all amenities and the bus station. I would highly recommend Valletta G House.

“Gorgeous hideaway in Valletta for a romantic couple”

We found a rave review of the Valletta G House in the Guardian a few years ago and immediately knew it was for us! We knew we wanted to visit Malta at some point, so when we finally decided to go, there was no question about where we would stay. We always try to steer clear of modern hotel complexes, and realised right away that the popular Valletta suburb of Sliema was not for us: we wanted to experience the real Valletta. With such high expectations we could easily have been disappointed, but thankfully the house and its very central location surpassed our expectations in every way. As soon as we made our reservation on line the owners were in touch and were very helpful with suggestions about sights to see, etc. We were greeted at the airport by the house manager, John, who was very nice. As other reviewers have said, the house is even more beautiful than the photos on the website, so we were thrilled when we first saw it. The decoration is really in keeping with the spirit of the house, and features some stunning photographs produced by the owner’s publicity company. John had thoughtfully prepared a welcome basket of goodies for us, including bread, jam, a bottle of local wine and some milk, which was a really nice touch. The bedroom/living room is very spacious, and the bed is large and comfortable. The kitchen, which is in the basement, is beautiful, with a vaulted ceiling, and has everything you need if you want to eat in. We ate in a few evenings, and found that there were several good food shops nearby, including a small shop behind an unmarked door, with no shop window, which sold the most delicious chicken we’ve ever tasted! We roasted one for our new year’s dinner, having decided to opt out of the overpriced special menus in nearby restaurants. There are only a couple of downsides to the house in our view. Firstly, while we were there Malta experienced some of the coldest weather since 1988, so the house, being 16th century, did get very cold. We had a couple of heaters, though, and snuggled up under a blanket; however, it would probably be nice and cool in the summer. Secondly, the ceilings are very low in parts of the kitchen and bathroom, so the house may not be suitable for very tall people. The owner is very keen to ensure that guests enjoy the experience, and leaves a comments form for people to fill in at the end of their stay. He emailed us to tell us that he had immediately acted on all our suggestions for improvements (such as providing a potato peeler and an extra heater). We would not hesitate to recommend the Valletta G House to other people. Next time we visit Malta we will be sure to stay either there or the owner’s other property, Indulgence Divine, which also looks fabulous.

Dear C & F,

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at VGH. I must try the butcher you mention. I take it you mean the one further up the road (North Street). We look forward to seeing you again, perhaps this time at our other accommodation, Indulgence Divine. John asked me to send his regards along with mine. PS. Following the cold spell, we've taken up your suggestion and have now added 2 oil heaters to the electric heaters already there, just to be on the safe side.

“Better than the pictures....and the pictures are amazing!”

Valletta G-House is simply a breathtaking experience. The level of detail and luxury at the price given is stunning. It really makes your visit to Malta something special as you stay in Valletta around local people in what I can only describe as a palace.

The bedroom is built for royalty and you feel like it when you sit on a 'throne' looking out the windows on the balcony.

The pictures are deceptive as the place is better than they even suggest.

Never stayed in a place like this before, in a city built like Valletta. The people (including the owner) exceptionally helpful.

Ohhhh so much better than 4 star hotel!!!

We finally got around to fitting in a break in Malta and staying at the G House. The property is excellent, well maintained and beautifully decorated.

Valleta is like stepping back in time, with the plus of great restaurants and Mdina a must to visit.

For a quiet, stress free break it proved just perfect.
