I used the buses on Malta often to get around the island.I found them cheap and inexpensive.A very useful service for locals and tourists alike.

the busses in Gozo are always on time getting you to your destination, sometimes they come a little bit early which is good.

What a pleasant surprise. We used the number 14 service to return from Valletta to St Julians. The bus was on time, clean and the journey wound its way back to St Julians via an interesting route. We were on the bus for around 45 minutes and the ticket only cost 1.5 euros. Amazing value.

We were only in Malta for three days so paid $1.50 for each journey (2 hours duration). It was good value....We got the bus from valetta (east) to mdina (west) although during rush hour and so lots of traffic, we did get there. Although everything was shut in mdina by then- still, it was good. Wouldn't recommend the transport to get to the airport or anything that's time bound, for leisure- great!

I use Malta Public Transport on my each visit to Malta and I can see nothing has changed.

When the price of a week travel card is easily acceptable for, in fact unlimited travel all over the Malta isles, the fact that bus service is unreliable and buses almost always overcrowded, can give you a headache.

Moreover, a queue system does not work and you can see both locals and tourists who do not bother with the queue and board the bus when and as they’re pleased and this can cause the frustration at times.

Also the seats for disable/pregnant/eldelry are for nothing as you can see many young people not vacating the space when needed. Not to mention spaces for buggies - people simply do not move! what I find rarther shocking.

The buses to main tourist attractions run, unfortunately, every 60 or 30 minutes and this does not make any easier to travel around Malta.

It’s sad, Malta Transport cash money but do not improve the services. The Malta population is around 434 000 and the total inbound of visitors in 2016 was 1,98 million. Malta simply needs more buses.
