This is a wonderful place to stay for many reasons. The gardens are incredible and my 2 yr old daughter loved charging around on the grass and my baby son loved hanging out in the shade of palm trees. There's a good tennis court and the pool though bracing in April was also lovely. There are amazing beaches within 15 mins by car with beach side cafes serving lovely lunches and at that time of year, few people around. Gaelle and David were perfect hosts and David was very gracious about having to dril the lock off the bathroom door after I managed to lock myself in! (entirely my fault) . We stayed in the cottage which is simple but perfect for our needs and really good value. We never go back to the same place twice but I think we're going to make an exception for Quinta das Flores. Thanks Gaelle and David and sorry it's taken this long to post a review!

We were planning a 2 weeks holiday in Portugal in July 2012 and were looking for a B&B accommodation, with a family feel, a lot of nature and relaxed environment. We could not have found anything better than Quinta das Flores. This is a stunning villa in the little village of Figueira, immersed in the nature and beautiful gardens with cork and orange trees all around. The location is perfect to explore the west side of Algarve and if you like kitesurfing like we do, this is definitely the best spot to stay, close to Alvor bay, where thermal wind blows every day in summer from 2pm until sunset. We initially booked a 5 nights stay at the Quinta das Flores, but we ended up spending our full 2 weeks holiday there. You can wake up with guaranteed sunshine, lovely birds sounds and delicious breakfast served near the swimming pool every morning. Gaelle and Dave, the owners of this beautiful place have a tremendous hospitality: they welcomed us as part their family, prepared delicious breakfast, barbecue and meals for us and made our holiday truly memorable. We could not have predicted any better hospitality than what Gaelle and Dave offered us. They both speak perfect English and Portuguese. They have been living in the area for 35 years and every day they were recommending us stunning places to visit and beautiful restaurants. We loved this place so much that we cannot wait to be back very soon. Rooms are spacious, light and cosy. You also have a swimming pool and tennis court available just for you!

my boyfriend and i booked a last minute flight and were desperate to book something 2 days before we needed to move in and we were over the moon with this apartment. The Dutch couple who own the apartments went out of their way to help us many times with travel, local information and any questions. We didn't rent a car to begin with but soon found out you really need one as the nearest town is about 15mins drive away, but that's the price for choosing somewhere in the country with peace and tranquiltiy and it was well worth it. There are 3 other apartments which means you often get the large pool to yourself, the other visitors were very friendly. My boyfriend and I are 26 so it wasn't ideal for the occasional nightlife we wanted but it made up for it in the beaches and towns which were filled with locals and not groups of touists, thank goodness. ideal for those looking for relaxation to the maximum.
