LOVED IT! The staff was great. The location is in the heart of everything a person could want to do. Shopping, food and the bay are a short walk. There is nothing you could miss. If Iceland is on your bucket list I say DO IT! You will not regret it.

perfect breakfast, suitable location!
would be better to have rain coats or umbrellas for rent.
parking info is missing on site.
but overall everything is very good for travel in Iceland and overlooking down town of Reikjavik

The location was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. But the room was disappointing -- small, sparse, and not a room one would want to spend any time in except to sleep, The breakfast selection was disappointing as well. Limited variety.

The hotel was really good, very friendly reception staff, comfortable bed and very good breakfast (recommended). The location is central to the city centre and round the corner from a quaint 'pub' with locally produced food. All hotels in Iceland are expensive by UK standards but this hotel was exceptionally good value for the money

Room Tip: Get a room away from common areas and lifts as it is used by coach parties

We had 3 couples in 3 rooms, all more than adequate and with a good view, and superb walking access to downtown Reykjavik. We had stayed in a previous trip at the Canopy Hilton which was a superior hotel, but far less of a value. The rooms at the Plaza were virtually as good, and an excellent breakfast buffet was included. Its Iceland, not cheap, but good value relatively.

We had a vehicle, and found access to hotel difficult when relying on Google Maps. Confusion of one way and blocked streets in center of town.
