First off, the reason why I wasn't impressed is because the building is literally a building site outside BUT after eventually getting inside (there is no reception you have to call and there can be confusion) the place is beautifully decorated and you get everything that is listed on the booking info, the building is being renovated and for them to do this they obviously need to continue to rent rooms out to fund the refurb. Don't judge a book by its cover I guess!
When you get there you need to ring Maria to get in, i wasn't impressed by this as we had to wait a few hours but once you get the keys and the codes you're good to go. You have everything you need in there, it's spacious and in a great location. It's one of the cheapest places to stay yet still of a decent quality.
It's centre of downtown and all excursion and airport pickup stops are right outside.
I'd definitely recommend it
1.great value for money given its excellent location. Its right in the middle of reykjavik, short walking distance to everywhere.
2.there is a 10-11(24hours convenience store) nearby. 5 minutes to Harpa/Gray Excursion office/bus stop and pretty much everywhere else.
3.the kitchen has complete utensils. You might have to bring your own cooking stuff i.e. sugar, butter etc.
4.there were 3 of us but only 2 towels. Only on the second day we got another towel. Its good to remind Maria again and again how many of you are coming and what time you will arrive as when we arrive, the key was not there. But Maria has backup, but you have to be able to contact her to do that.otherwise, you might end up being locked outside.
5.great place,it feels a bit like business hostel that you share with other people but we have no complaint at all given the price and location.
