At least that is what it looked like the few times we went. This is an old style coffee/pastry shop, and I think they do sandwiches too. When you open the door you hear the chatter of people speaking a wonderfully strange language interspersed with laughter. The crowd seemed to be older than at some of the other cafes in town that we visited with many fewer tourists. The cappuccino and hot chocolate were delicious. Centrally located the the city shopping area, it is easy to sip your coffee and imagine Icelanders in years past enjoying their friends, family and coffee just as they do today in this place that is a step back in time.
