We were taken here by a City guide, Gula, and were very awed by the Concert Hall. Its inner dimensions really stood out after seeing the outer ones. Gula knew how to present the Hall!:-) It is a space for people and about people.....loved it! Visited it on my own the day after it for the first time!

We took a guided tour of Harpa on our recent trip to Reykjavik. What a fantastic hour we had. The hall is beautiful and an acoustical wonder. Well worth the time as we learned of the challenges to get it done both financially and in terms of engineering and design.

To fully appreciate this large, multifaceted, all glass Symphony Hall, one should first visit the Black Beach on the South Shore and the amazing hexagonal pillar formations of basalt rock. One can walk around the inside of the Hall and appreciate the construction and the views but the various auditoriums are closed except to guided tours, which we did not have time enough to take.
