Description: Icelandic traditional food Cafe Loki offer Icelandic meat soup, Icelandic sample plates, homemade bread and cakes. Icelandic traditional homemade dishes are our specialty. You can taste fermented shark and dried fish but Icelandic meat soup and our Icelandic plates are most popular among the Rye Ice cream and Skyr cake. Beautiful view over Reykjavik, Hallgrimskirkja church and to mountain Blafjoll. Icelandic food.

Must go and try the rye bread ice cream. It was amazing! This place was part of a food tour we went on and I wished we had more time to try the other foods

We were looking for a locals place to have a small meal.

We had the smashed fish on rye with the cheesecake for desert. We loved the mural on the wall and were given a picture of it and the Norse myth the mural is about. This was a place that locals ate before tourist discovered it.

We loved it. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were there in January 2018 so it was not crowded and filled with tourist.

After experiencing a 3-week long road trip, we thought it was a brilliant idea to end our adventure with a final traditional meal. We should have known from that minute we saw everyone taking a picture of their sad open-faced sandwiches that this was a meal to forget. After tasting fresh foods around the island, the food here tasted stale and as far from coming directly from the ocean. Typically, I am the president of the clean plate club; I could barely muster the strength to take more than two bites of each dish that I ordered. If you have had the opportunity to explore the island, you will see that it is covered in jolly sheep that eat the greenest grass, you will notice that there are dozens of fishing villages and that there are farms that offer the freshest skyr from the happiest cows. Ignore the positive comments and this tourist trap. If you are looking for traditional food, go somewhere that offers fresh lamb or seafood instead. The only thing this place has going for it is an epic mural and a kind staff!

Had a coffee and cake which was excellent. Good service and welcoming. Good stop off after a visit to the church.

This restaurant is recommended by our city walk tour guide. It’s the place to taste traditional Icelandic food. We ordered Meat soup offer(Meat soup, flatbread with smoked lamb and coffee) and Gratinated mashed fish with rye bread and salad. Both of them are very good. When you visit the church, you can easily to find Loki. It’s right across the street.
