“Amazing location and a beautiful apartment”

We stayed for a week over new years eve and we loved the apartment. The owners were very helpful and quick to answer any question, they even arranged for me to borrow a tripod so that I could photograph the Northern Lights.
The apartment is very spacious, and it is handy having such a large living room and dining room to store your cases.
The apartment is always lovely and warm because of the geo heating, and there is plentiful hot water. There is also some lovely artwork, and lots of maps, English tv channels and free wifi.
Location is great, right next to the main church, and only a few roads away from the main roads. Parking is free. Would 100% recommend, and it was a bargain compared to other hotels that we stayed in whilst in Iceland.

“Helpful hints and tips”

This apartment is in a very convenient location, only 5 minutes' walk to the nearest café and minimarket. The street is part of a residential neighbourhood, and as it's one-way, with plenty of free on-street parking, it makes life easy if you have a rental car. Don't be put off by the external appearance of the block, and try to ignore the shabby communal staircase with torn carpet. The actual apartment is indeed bright and spacious, particularly the hall, living room and main bedroom. The beds were very clean and comfortable. The second bedroom has only limited floor space and no hanging space for clothes. The bathroom's compact and has neither window nor extractor fan. The heating was on, so you certainly won't feel cold. It's really just like a home-from-home: it feels as if the owners have just stepped out - plenty of partly-used shampoo, soap, toilet rolls, bits and pieces in the fridge, toaster full of crumbs, hairdryer, even a few hairs in the bath, which we soon rinsed away. Siggi told us he'd had a new toilet fitted the previous week. There were plenty of clean towels and tea towels, and the kitchen's reasonably well-equipped with implements, a gas hob, electric oven, microwave and a freezer which could have done with defrosting, though that didn't bother us. The wi-fi worked very well. The neighbours in the flat below are nice, and although we didn't meet the ones upstairs we did hear them - communal harmonic singing, guitars and bongo drums from 2am-3.30am made an interesting finale to our experience of Iceland's National Day celebrations! We assume they don't do this every week....and staying here is a great way of feeling part of Reykjavik everyday life, as well as being handy for the touristy stuff.

“Very pleased with location”

My friends and I were very pleased with the central location of the apartment. There was plenty of room for four of us to rest up between excursions which we took from the bus station and we were happy with the proximity to the centre of the city. Being able to prepare our own meals was a real bonus.

“Beautiful place, great location”

This was a perfect location and a quick walk to all the city sites. The advantage of this over a hotel is the space you had to enjoy yourself, the free WIFI, the television, even though we didn't watch much and, of course, the kitchen. We did some shopping at the local markets so that we could have breakfast and lunch at home and then splurge on dinners. I would stay here again!
