Description: Kaffitár is an Icelandic coffee roaster and operates five cafés and two bakeries. You can expect a cozy atmosphere, direct trade specialty coffee and artisan breads, pastries and cakes. Kaffitár cafés are located at Perlan, Bankastræti, Höfðatorg Borgartún, Kringlan shopping center, The National Museum at Suðurgata. Our artisan bakeries, Kruðerí Kaffitárs, are located at Stórhöfði and Nýbýlavegur. We import and roast our own speciality coffee. We trade directly with farmers who share our values on environmental issues and social responsibility. Our bread and pastries are handmade daily in our artisan bakery, Kruðerí Kaffitárs. Our cafés are certified by the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and have been awarded “Kuðungurinn”, the environmental recognition of the Ministry for the Environment and Natural Resources.

We wanted to try the different coffeehouses, so we waited for 7:30am for this cafe to open. Great atmosphere, and very popular, lots of locals come here.

We had their breakfast sandwich (ham, egg, cheese, thick piece of bread) and the tuna salad (open face sandwich, tuna salad) on a toasted bread. Excellent meal to start the day.

Decent prices, good staff, happy with the service. Free WiFi available.

Who doesn't love a good caffè macchiato? Weird people. Had delicious ones here. Nutella croissant to add to me developing belly fat. So good, you can't say no. Perfect location. Walk up the cold street, stop and have a hot drink, keep moving up the street until your next warm stop. I'll have to come back here in their summer.

We stopped in here for breakfast - coffee and hot chocolate very good. We had cinnamon rolls but there were plenty of other things to choose from.

Lovely little coffee house with vast array of different cofffees and cakes. Can definitely recommend the hot chocolate too. Very busy all the time. Friendly service and good atmosphere. 2 hot drinks and 1 slice of cake, about £18
