We stayed here for one night before boarding a cruise ship, so we had limited time to experience as much as possible. The hotel was very conveniently located and withing easy walking distance of the old city. The staff were friendly, rooms good and comfortable (ours was VERY spacious), breakfast very good (according to Europena standards - dont expect the huge English or American breakfasts here!). HIghly reccomended - When we return to Stockholm again, we will certainly stay here again!

You can't beat this location. Easy walk to trains, old town, buses, boats. Older hotel so some things a little dingy. Quaint, small elevator. Spacious room. Wifi a bit dicy. Street side rooms were noisy some nights; just take ear plugs. Great breakfast. If I go back to Stockholm, this is where I will stay.

Room Tip: Rooms on street side may have noise from restaurants. Take ear plugs.

Not up to any standard. Small room but high ceiling. Few outlets. Small old elevator. Lamps needed replacing. Dark hallway. Room poorly cleaned. Condom wrapper from previous guests left by the nightstand!
No mini-fridge! Isn't it standard? We asked the reception for ice to cool drinks but was met with lackluster response from staff. "No I don't think we have any" No service... guy more interested in checking his personal phone. Wifi was free but connection kept dropping out. Could not use Spotify. Breakfast next day very minimal. Cereal, cold cuts, coffee and bread. No bacon!! Big letdown. Reception staff rolled eyes at me during checkout when asked to repeat something.
Too expensive for the motel standard.
I will not be returning here. Go somewhere you'll be treated with care!

Hi Edward S.

Firstly I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the feedback.

I have reviewed your stay here with us but can not find any complaints and remarks made at the hotel. The best way for us to always assure 100% customer satisfaction is for us to know so that we can correct issues.

The elevator is antique and can not be altered with nor replaced because it is under protection of cultural historic regulations set by the City of Stockholm. We are very sorry that its appearance did not satisfy you. The hallways have always been with the same lighting but we will investigate if there is a need for stronger lights.
The room is 35 sqm and is considered large comparison for Stockholm. We are sorry that the size was not satisfying and all sizes are listed on our partner sites, we are sorry if you felt mislead.

In this case with proper cleaning there seems to have been a miscommunication with cleaning staff and status of the room. We are very sorry for this. We would have been more than happy to fix this issue on site if we had been made aware of it.

Mini fridge is not a standard for 3 star rating and is not listed as an amenity on our website nor on partner websites. We are sorry if you feel to have been mislead.

Wifi is free but should not drop out. However it is limited bandwidth to discourage infringement abuse, although this is getting a workaround and bandwidth will increase in the future.

We do not have an ice machine. It is not listed as an amenity either.
The receptionist probably meant that maybe might have something in the staff room freezer. He is new and we are sorry that he had not learned this yet.

We use a cellphone connected to our facebook account to answer messages which maybe explains why he was using a cellphone. I am sorry that it seemed like he was uninterested in helping you, this was not his intention.

Breakfast is of a continental type. This is listed on our website and partner sites. I am sorry if you felt mislead, this was not our intention, we do not serve bacon or any other fried foods.

Please contact me sasha(at)queenshotel.se if you have any further questions and I will try my best in answering. Would also like to get your contact info and give a discount on your next visit so we can show that we can satisfy your needs.

Best Regards

This former apartment building has larger than average hotel rooms and includes a basic breakfast buffet. The lobby is small but functional. But the real asset is its location, right on the Drottninggatan pedestrian thoroghfare of Stockholm, and easy walking distance to Gamla Stan (Old Town), metro and bus stops, and tons of restaurants. We did have unusually warm weather while there (May 22-27, 2016); and the rooms really are not equipped for that. So it was warm and stuffy at night -- had to leave the window open behind the blackout curtains (darkness didn't set in until after midnight).

Hi PhilMoser!

First I wish to thank you for the great review and feedback. It is always important for us to hear what our guests experiences are.

The building actually served as housing for the professors of Norra Latin and has a really impressive history with hotel rooms already back in 1920s.

Yes we dont normally get really nice weather but when we do it can get warmer than usual. Will look into if we can alleviate this for the rooms.

Have a great continued summer!

Best Regards

This is an old but very well managed Swedish hotel close to shopping, subway and Old Town. Some wifi problems but rooms are clean, basic and quiet. Staff helped solve several problems we had and they have a friendly, can do approach. Good basic breakfast, laundry facilities. Many downtown shopping district at hotel entrance and that pedestrian route leads about 20 minutes into Gamla Stan.
