Tiny cozy place in the heart of old Stockholm, Gamla Stan. It has just several tables on two open levels, sweet vintage decorations with vinyl records, draperies and pillows.

Menu contains small but nice choice of pretty healthy meals, cooking is very fast. Salmon was extremely tasty, and the herring sandwitch became a pleasant surprise for one of us (who actually hated herring before). Prices are normal, compared to the restaurants around. Staff is nice and friendly.

Strongly recommend this place for solo travelers, couples, families with children (there is some kind of hidden children "mini playing room" under the stairs but we didn't have chance to look there).

We took a stroll around Gamla Stan and decided on Matgatan 22 due to the good reviews here and on Yelp. It was a little confusing to know how their system worked. There are tables inside on an elevated platform, some seating outside, and some tables around where you place your order. Our table was small and situated in the front hallway as you walk in. Everything else was taken. It was a high top with hard stools. We had the pulled pork burger with crispy potatoes and the salad that you make yourself. The food was excellent. However I cannot give it an excellent rating because of the chaotic ordering and really uncomfortable seating.

I was looking for a cool place to try a traditional brunch when I discovered this little gem. They’re offering lunch (although one can consider it to be brunch) and they have a great selection of local flavors. The menu is rich but no exhaustive, the prices good and the portions large enough. There are not that many tables, especially inside, and I could see the restaurant being full at all times. It’s location in the old city makes it unique for a traditional and healthy lunch, outside or inside!

Stopped here for a late lunch, the dishes are all reasonably priced, which is a contrast to many tourist traps in the area!
The service was great, friendly, nothing is too much trouble!
I had the avocado salad and loved it! Pleasantly surprised at the portion size and the flavours were delicious! Wish I’d discovered this place sooner so I had time to go again!

My friends and I ate here twice it was so good. The food is organic, local and fresh and they can easily accommodate gluten free or vegan. The bouillabaisse was creamy and tasty; the salads bright and crisp; the mushroom burger very flavorful. Wines were good quality. Service was casual but friendly, you pay at the counter and then get served at table. Outdoor seating available, with blankets if it gets chilly. An indoor playroom for the kiddies is a nice touch for parents. Located in Gamla Stan, the oldest neighborhood in Stockholm.
