“Great place for perfect family fun”
Reviewed 9 November 2017 for a stay in September 2017

We had such a great time at les Laurents. We spent time there for our sons first birthday with both his grandparents. It is so spacious with all the equipment you could ever need.

There was a highchair, cot, baby seat and much more equipment for our little one which made travelling much easier and lighter for the car! He made use of the massive living room with all his toys too.

The outdoor space is perfect, we had a couple of bbqs and sat out under the shade with some wine. So quiet peaceful and the star's at night are quite something.

The area is lovely with plenty of supermarkets in the close by towns. Civray has a lovely little market and a park which is nice with mini golf. Ruffec is bigger with a McDonald's and a big supermarket and nice town. We visited the vallee les singes whilst we was there which was amazing. Monkeys climbing the trees above your head and walking right by your feet. Our little one loved it. We also visited oradour which was sad but fascinating and glad we have seen. Not far from here at all.

Can't wait to return to les Laurents. Thank you Martin and viv for your hospitality. We had a great holiday!!!

“Gorgeous”
Reviewed 25 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Martin and Vivs place is simply beautiful. Perfect for a quiet getaway!

Plenty of space for families or friends with double and single beds available. There is plenty of living space with two front rooms both equipped with a TV. Kitchen / utility area is great and there is a lot of fridge space, which is great for storing all the cheap wine you can pick up in the local supermarkets! We had everything we needed for our stay.

Garden area is lovely and there is lots to do. Area is very quiet, but shops and towns are not far away either so there is something for everyone.

Thanks for providing such a nice place to sleep while visiting to celebrate my mums birthday! Would definitely recommend it!

“Simply perfect - loads of lovely space”
Reviewed 13 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We stayed at Les Laurents as two families consisting of ten in total and we all really enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of space available for everyone to stretch out and have their own space. The pool was brilliant and kept spotlessly clean by the owner every day and was safely contained behind a locked fence.
The BBQ and patio area were a particular hit and we ate Al Fresco every night on the huge table outside that was located under a very convenient canopy. There were plenty of pool toys, sports goods including a table tennis table and badminton net & racquets - enough to keep everyone entertained.
The owners were always nearby but kept a discrete distance but available if we needed them.
The property was tastefully decorated and really well equipped - 3 fridges!! With wifi, dvds, board games and books, we really could not have asked for more.
Our only grip and this is really clutching at straws was the sat navs did not locate the property and it was a few miles outside Genouille but Martin the owner came and met our weary party and led us to the lovely property.
You will not regret staying here - thank you very much.

“Peace and Quiet”
Reviewed 3 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Les Laurents - We visited Les Laurents in France in July, 2015.

Surrounded by extensive sunflower, wheat and hay farms the hamlet of Les Laurent, will instantly melt away any worry and leave you feeling completely relaxed.

The house has everything you need - a home away from home - big country kitchen with dining table, many big rooms and bathrooms, 2 lounges and an outdoor area.

The pool area is perfect with loungers and a beautiful lime stone finish. It is the perfect temperature to relax in after a walk/cycle in the country. You could spend all day relaxing around the pool if that's your fancy.

The walks are beautiful and there are specially marked walks to lakes and other sights.

A quiet hamlet but with all amenities and activities close by. There is a shopping centre, bakery and markets to buy fresh bread, produce and local goods.

We went kayaking down the river in Ruffec which has a lovely natural pool at the beginning to take your children/family to and have ice cream/a picnic. And a Fairytale Castle nearby to visit.

The people you encounter are the cherry on top for the holiday - a big friendly Bonjoir is the status quo and you feel happy and at ease in the town.

The hosts were amazing, making sure we had everything we needed and giving us advice on great things to see/do

Highly recommend, will definitely be back.

“A piece of heaven in France - you will not want to leave”

We had a fabulous two week stay at Les Laurents on a family holiday with my siblings and our grown-up children.

WHAT'S GREAT ABOUT IT:
- Extremely comfortable - a home away from home but with everything you could want or need.
- Plenty of space to enjoy large family/friend gatherings - privacy when you need it and lots of areas to enjoy the company of others.
- Fantastic pool. The pool is kept incredibly clean and sparkling. The temperature was perfect to dive into after a walk or cycle or just because... Big enough, too, for everyone to have fun.
- Outside eating, sitting and barbeque area with two gas barbeques- all set right next to the pool. We spent many hours there throughout the day and in the evening watched the slow sunset (at 10 pm!!) after a relaxing outdoor dinner and drinks.
- Facilities - fully equipped kitchen - two ovens, three fridges and a freezer; laundry; up-to-date bathrooms all over the place, very comfy chairs and settees (2 lounges!) to watch television or share the day's events. Wifi. The whole house is well decorated. Etc etc etc
- Very clean and well maintained.
- Surrounding area is beautiful and peaceful. Farms and wonderful walks surround the house.
- It is a short drive to get to shops and supermarkets which are all well stocked and easy to access.
- There are lots of tourist sites, villages and activities close by and we enjoyed the tranquil drives through the farm lands to get to them. The canoe trip down the river starting from Ruffec, in particular, is stunning.
- Martin and Vivien Woods, who own and lovingly take care of Les Laurent. They were always helpful and caring and let us relax and enjoy the amenities without intruding.

WHAT IS NOT GREAT ABOUT IT:
- You have to leave and go home.
