We've just got back from a lovely weekend staying at Plough Cottage. The cottage has everything you could need for a short, or long stay. Bonus points are that the cottage is close to a couple of pubs (one across the road - Plough Inn; the other within a 20min walk (uphill), or a 5min drive), and a cafe/deli serving breakfast, sandwiches, teas, coffees and cakes - so if you don't want to "self-cater" you definitely don't have to. Fortunately, we managed to have good weather for the time we were there, given the time of year, but only managed one walk. But having said that, there are several walks around the area - both short and long - and these are detailed in the welcome pack available in the cottage. The cottage itself is a high end, luxury place to stay and whilst the mobile phone signal isn't great in the immediate area, the cottage has wifi and has a landline for emergency calls. There is a host of other items available for use within the cottage, such as an xBox, or traditional games - should you encounter weather you don't fancy being out in - which will definitely pass an hour or more. But the peace and tranquility is of benefit if you just fancy whiling away an hour or two reading, whilst being in a very comfortable, luxurious cottage. Plus if you get bored of that, you can pop across the road for a beer, wine or a fabulous meal. We're definitely going back...already booked!!
