This hotel wasn't exactly what we expected. Copenhagen is incredibly clean, safe and friendly. So, even in a terrible part of town, things are pretty nice. However, I am lucky that my 12 year old is relatively worldly. There is a strip club next to the hotel, and two around the corner. When we went down the street for dinner, there looked to be a couple of prostitutes across the way.
The hotel itself is pleasant inside, and the staff are friendly and helpful. There is no hotel parking, but there was room on the street and the ability to pay for more than one day. The main tourist area is about a 10-15 minute walk up a busy street with tons of bicycles. Tivoli Gardens is on the way there. The location is "central" but not in the middle of everything.
The rooms are older and on the small side, but decent for a city hotel. What was surprising was the lack of air conditioning. That was a new one for me in a large chain hotel. Fortunately, with the windows open and a fan on, we were able to do ok at night.
Breakfast was really good with a ton of choices. Nobody checked my room number, so I guess you can feel free to bring friends :-)More
