The first thing to say is do not build your entire day round this exhibit. It is beautiful as are the surroundings. But as is often the case, people are scrambling for selfies with the statue in the shot.

This is worth a visit, Just don't go expecting peace and tranquillity as it is the one of the most visited landmarks in Copenhagen.

its a bit far out from the centre. the walk is nice though but if I'm honest we went on a boat ride and you can see it on that so if you dont fancy the walk get on a cheap boat ride.

its cool but walk a little bit further and you can see the messed up mermaid and i thought she was a lot cooler

The statue it self is smaller than you might think, and the crowd is usually quite big around it but if you wait, you'll get your turn to pose with the statue.

If you walk from around the Central Railwaystation it'll take you about 45 minutes, but it is worth it. Go through Strøget one way and come back through the Royal palace and Nyhavn.

There are a lot of shops and restaurants on the way.

Lovely little sculpture on the waterside. A 20-25 minute walk from downtown. Read the story of the mermaid before taking the walk.

The little Mermaid is little sitting on some rocks only a few yards out in the water, but always busy with visitors .
